🔍 Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful and spooky day, enjoying all your readings.❤️ Today I’m back with the third part of my series of posts where I’ll be sharing with you some lists and recommendations of spooky books so that you can add to your TBR and maybe read at some point! 😍 I’m SO excited to share the horror season with you, you know that I LOVE everything that has to do with spooky stuffs, so it’s a pleasure for me to be putting together these lists full of interesting books for you.
This time I’ve decided to bring you a list of 10 books within the mystery & thriller genre, so you can also enjoy this month, 5 of them I’ve read and loved, and the other 5 are in my TBR. 😊 I’ve decided to make this list to include in this series of posts because many of you have commented to me that you’re not very interested in horror as such, or it’s simply not the genre that resonates with you the most, and I respect that completely, so my mission is to bring a more varied list of books so that more of you can enjoy this season with me and can find something that genuinely catches your attention.❤️
In this list, I’ve focused on books that I love and other books that do seem or sound just as compelling as the books that I’ve loved, so that I can trust a little more in recommending those books that I haven’t read as well, and expand our lists! 👏🏻 This is one of my favorite genres so I’m super excited about sharing all these amazing books with you.
I hope it’s something you enjoy, thank you SO much for your support with this mini-series for October, I love you, you’re incredible, I hope you’re having an incredible spooky month 🥰 & without further ado, let’s get started! 🔍

🔍 Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
“Money doesn’t buy taste, personality, or common decency.”
Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all – popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.
Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it’s one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took “mean girl” to a whole new level, and it’s clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She’s getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she’s falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.
But Cassie is still missing, and the truth about what happened to her that night isn’t just buried deep inside of Sam’s memory – someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?
🔍 Little Monsters by Kara Thomas
“Hope is the most dangerous thing you can give someone.”
Kacey is the new girl in Broken Falls. When she moved in with her father, she stepped into a brand-new life. A life with a stepbrother, a stepmother, and strangest of all, an adoring younger half sister.
Kacey’s new life is eerily charming compared with the wild highs and lows of the old one she lived with her volatile mother. And everyone is so nice in Broken Falls—she’s even been welcomed into a tight new circle of friends. Bailey and Jade invite her to do everything with them.
Which is why it’s so odd when they start acting distant. And when they don’t invite her to the biggest party of the year, it doesn’t exactly feel like an accident.
But Kacey will never be able to ask, because Bailey never makes it home from that party. Suddenly, Broken Falls doesn’t seem so welcoming after all—especially once everyone starts looking to the new girl for answers.
Kacey is about to learn some very important lessons: Sometimes appearances can be deceiving. Sometimes when you’re the new girl, you shouldn’t trust anyone.
🔍 Fragments of the Lost by Megan Miranda
“Everyone had secrets. Trust is a luxury for fools. The more I discover, the less I trust my own memories, even.”
From the New York Times bestselling author of All the Missing Girls and The Perfect Stranger comes a suspenseful psychological mystery about one girl’s search to uncover the truth behind her ex-boyfriend’s death. Perfect for fans of We Were Liars and 13 Reasons Why .
Jessa Whitworth knew she didn’t belong in her ex-boyfriend Caleb’s room. But she couldn’t deny that she was everywhere: in his photos, his neatly folded T-shirts, even the butterfly necklace in his jeans pocket . . . the one she gave him for safe keeping on that day.
His mother asked her to pack up his things, even though she blames Jessa for his accident. How could she say no? And maybe, just maybe, it will help her work through the guilt she feels about their final moments together.
But as Jessa begins to box up the pieces of Caleb’s life, they trigger memories that make Jessa realize their past relationship may not be exactly as she remembered. And she starts to question whether she really knew Caleb at all.
Each fragment of his life reveals a new clue that propels Jessa to search for the truth about Caleb’s accident. What really happened on the storm-swept bridge?
“I’m going to kill a man. I’m going to steal the light from his eyes. I want to watch it go out.”
A missing girl on a journey of revenge. A Serial―like podcast following the clues she’s left behind. And an ending you won’t be able to stop talking about.
Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray―a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America―overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.
Courtney Summers has written the breakout book of her career. Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep you riveted until the last page.
🔍 The Girl from Widow Hills by Megan Miranda
Everyone knows the story of “the girl from Widow Hills.”
Arden Maynor was just a child when she was swept away while sleepwalking during a terrifying rainstorm and went missing for days. Strangers and friends, neighbors and rescue workers, set up search parties and held vigils, praying for her safe return. Against all odds, she was found, alive, clinging to a storm drain. The girl from Widow Hills was a living miracle. Arden’s mother wrote a book. Fame followed. Fans and fan letters, creeps, and stalkers. And every year, the anniversary. It all became too much. As soon as she was old enough, Arden changed her name and disappeared from the public eye.
Now a young woman living hundreds of miles away, Arden goes by Olivia. She’s managed to stay off the radar for the last few years. But with the twentieth anniversary of her rescue approaching, the media will inevitably renew its interest in Arden. Where is she now? Soon Olivia feels like she’s being watched and begins sleepwalking again, like she did long ago, even waking outside her home. Until late one night she jolts awake in her yard. At her feet is the corpse of a man she knows—from her previous life, as Arden Maynor.
And now, the girl from Widow Hills is about to become the center of the story, once again, in this propulsive page-turner from suspense master Megan Miranda.

We Were Liars honestly surprised me in the end. I had no idea how the story was going to end and the end just blew me away. One of the best YA thrillers I’ve read, honestly, besides Sadie of course, which will always be at the top of my list haha. Great list! I’ve definitely got to add some of these to my TBR 😀

I have read only Sadie, and I have read it because of the book community. I always thought that this book was not really my cup of tea, and I wasn’t really wrong, but since I was reading so many interesting things about it, I decided to go for it once I was feeling like trying something out of my comfort zone. And I did get lucky! I have some of the other titles you mentioned on my list, and I hope to read them too, sooner or later!
