November Wrap Up | A Challenging Month: NaNoWriMo & Catching up with ARCs 🌻

🌻 Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful day full of good readings.❤️Today I bring you a new post… my November Wrap Up! where I’ll tell you ALL about my readings of the month. This month was a challenge for me, I think it’s the first time that I put myself to the test in this way so demandingly. I can say that I’m proud of myself for having been able to do SO much during this month, on the other hand, I’m exhausted so it would be good for me to relax a little during the next month, I deserve it. 🥺 🥺
Well, to keep you updated on what I’ve been doing in the month of November, to begin with, I’ve been participating in
NaNoWriMo for the first time, and it has been an absolutely enriching experience of learning and growth for me as a writer, which I appreciate very much. 😊 I’m more than happy to have participated, but I did realize how demanding it could be, so that’s why I made the decision to abandon it after the third week, I told you a little about it in my NaNo update, but in summary, I felt that I was being too much for me, I felt mentally and physically exhausted and I didn’t want to write anything just to reach a “goal”, you know? so I made that decision and although it was difficult at the same time I know that it was the best for me and today I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished. I wrote 30k words and that’s just INCREDIBLE for me, so I haven’t regret, contrarily, I celebrate that great achievement. 🥳

Besides having been writing a lot and having focused 100% on my WIP also magically and I still don’t know how, I’ve been able to read ALL, yes, you read correctly, ALL the ARCs that I planned to read this month 🤩, I can’t believe I do it, but I’ve had the incredible luck to have quite short books and also super easy to read, I enjoyed them a lot so I’m really happy to have been able to read a lot this month too, which was not my main goal, but… YAY! 👏🏻
I’ve read a lot of high-impact fantasy, a bit of sci-fi & a long-awaited mystery book that paid off. So, super happy and excited to come with good news and been able to recommend several books.
 🥰

Before starting I want to share with you that I’ll be taking this week off, if you’ve followed me for a while you know that every year I take a week of mini-vacations to take care of myself and visit my family, and that kind of thing, so I’ll be gone since December 1st and I’ll return on Monday 7th and the second week of December will be normal as usual. 💕 I usually take weeks off in November but this time I decided to change things up a bit. I think it would be healthy for me to get away a little and I‘ll return with a lot of energy as usual to bring you the best of me. 💫
I also wanted to mention that I know that I haven’t been checking other blogs and I’m also super late with the comments, so I’m very sorry, really the month of November has been crazy for me 😭,
I’ve been extremely busy and I haven’t been able to do my beloved blog hopping, but I hope to change that soon and will be checking your beautiful and wonderful blogs as always. 😍 😍 😍
You know that I’m still here for you always, love you, I’m deeply grateful for all the love and the nice comments, THANK YOU SO MUCH! 💕 So, I’ll be back soon, when you’re reading this I’m probably already on my break, but I still wanted to mention it.
You’ll have posts anyway all the week, so you won’t feel my absence, but I’ll probably be answering comments when I get back and doing a massive blog hopping of thanks.

 🔥 A month FULL of AMAZING 2020 ARCs 🌔

🌻 War of the Twin Swords by Julia Goldhirsh | This was a super entertaining short story full of action and girl power, I really liked it! Above all, one of my favorite things about this book is that it puts a new twist on the King Arthur story, almost in a subtle way but you can still see that it’s there thanks to Excalibur, for example.
There’s also a lot of magic happening as a secondary component, and although it needs more development regarding the settings and characters, it still manages to be atmospheric and keeps you hooked. It’s an ideal fast-paced story to have a good time, always keeping in mind that being a short story maybe there are some things that feel rushed or others that may feel somewhat underdeveloped, but in general it’s worth it and it’s super enjoyable.

🌻 Shifting Shadows (Narun, #2) by M.J. Bavis | This is a sequel so I invite you to visit my review of the first book before if you want to know more about the story itself. This book like the first one made me feel like I was watching TV in my head, which I LOVE, I compared it to Vampire Diaries or Grimm, and I still think it is a good comparison because it has that urban style that plays with the mixture of contemporary reality with fantastical events. In this sequel, we have much more fantasy, which I liked still since it doesn’t lose its soul. I’m not entirely convinced about the characters, but I did see growth in them, and this is one of those rare times when I don’t mind being fully connected to the characters because I think the plot is worth it, it’s entertaining, super addicting and easy to read. I highly recommend it. | BOOK REVIEW |

3.5 Estrellas

🌻 The Shadowverse: Vengeance by J.C. Gallo | This is another sequel so my review of the first book HERE!. This story is a lot of fun because it is about a group of superheroes who must fight evil not only in this world but in multiple worlds. I love the action of this book, you can tell that the author has taken great care in polishing the fight scenes because they’re extraordinary, super addictive, and dynamic to read. But one of my favorite things is the dialogues because they’re placed at the right time to make you smile when you need it, making the plot lighten up a lot. If you like Marvel movies you can surely enjoy this story. Another example that if the plot is solid then it doesn’t matter if you don’t like the characters at all, and I’m happy to say that in this case, I managed to enjoy them more since there’s a noticeable growth and development in them. If you like sci-fi and superpower elements, go for it! | BOOK REVIEW |

3.5 Estrellas

🌻 A Wind From the Rift (The Price of Magic #2) by Bonnie Wynne | This is another sequel to a book I enjoy VERY MUCH, review of that book HERE! This book is high-fantasy but what I love most about it and what I think makes it unique in some way, is that it plays a lot with the darkness of the characters and has a very marked dark side, so it tends to feel creepy when reading, which I love & another thing that I need to highlight every time is the author’s style who seems to be light even in the worst moments, I don’t know how she does that, but it resonates a lot with me and I enjoy her unique style. I adore the main character and I feel super bad for her, for everything she has to go through, but I feel happy about her growth. Although I enjoy this sequel a lot, I still think that the first book is more solid since I find that the middle part of this one is a bit slow at times, but that’s just my perspective, I just think that the strongest points are the beginning and the ending, which I adore. | BOOK REVIEW |

3.5 Estrellas

🌻 Fantastic Tales of Nothing by Alejandra Green, Fanny Rodriguez || This graphic novel isn’t only adorable, but it has some of the most beautiful illustrations, lots of diversity, and a super fun plot to follow. It feels a lot like an introductory book, but at the same time, it’s super enjoyable. I adore how the characters must work together as a team even though they’re all very different and I adore how they express themselves and share their ideas because everything comes from how they were raised, their customs and beliefs, and I think that’s very interesting to explore, especially in a graphic novel focused on a younger audience. I loved the experience of reading it and I hope more people decide to do so. | BOOK REVIEW |

 🌊 Blog Tour ARC 🔎

🌻 The Cousins by Karen M. McManus | I was so excited to read this book, so it has been a pleasure for me to participate in the blog tour, I ended up enjoying it very much. This is one of those highly addicted mystery books that you can’t stop reading until you find out what’s going on. I get hooked from the first pages, I love how it’s built-in a way that the author gives you information little by little while you get more and more hooked and then reveal that great ending, that I didn’t see coming at all, an excellent job! I’m very excited to read more about the author from now on. The characters were great, and all have a very good development, if you like stories with unlikeable characters, I think this is the story for you. Also, the setting is an island, which I love and the plot has a very good pace, it’s not even heavy. The author’s style is not heavy at all, neither, but she has a dynamic and fast reading style that goes straight to the point. I loved it, it’s a great story, guys, I really appreciate it, I think many will enjoy it. Family dramas with a dark background of mystery are incredible. | BOOK REVIEW |

doing NaNo for 3 weeks is still a pretty huge accomplishment, so you should be proud!! i didn’t even try doing it this year, because i was (still am lol) new as a blogger, and i also had a lot going on in my life, so i just didn’t think i had the time!! (also the 50k words was kinda intimidating)!!

stay safe, relax during your break, and we’ll be here to give you a welcome when you’re back 😊

I totally understand why you have decided not to participate, maybe you can do it next year, it’s exhausting, I’ll not lie, but it’s also a month of a lot of learning which is great. 😍👏🏻

  2. Congrats on the 30k- that is incredible! I didn’t write this month because I’ve been focused on adding content to my blog since I just started blogging.

Anyway, you read a lot of tempting books this month! I think I added most of them to my TBR. 😀

Wishing you a wonderful December! ❤

  5. November wasn’t a good month reading wise or in general, other than my birthday, the rest of the month was pretty average and was filled with assignments and submissions 😅 my favourite book in November was ninth house 😊
I unfortunately didn’t get to achieve my goal for nanowrimo but I am glad that I participated and started writing again 😆

    • It makes me happy that you enjoyed Ninth House! ❤️ I struggled with that one and unfortunately I couldn’t finish it, but it makes me happy that it was for you 😊✨ I’m sorry that it wasn’t the best month of readings, but surely December will be better and also your 2021!!! 😍 & I think after participating in NaNo, I learned that the most important thing is to put your story to work and that’s great! 👏🏻✨
