WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

☕️ The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves #1) by Roshani Chokshi

First of all, can we appreciate the beautiful cover of this book? I’m absolutely in love!! Well, right now while you read this I’ll surely be about to finish it, but I’m a little more than half of it when I’m writing the post. I honestly thought I’d like it a little more than I’m actually liking it, you know? So far I really like the atmosphere that the author intends to give and her writing style is very beautiful, but on the other hand, I feel conflicted about the characters, and especially about the plot and the magic system. I can’t help but compare it to Six of Crows al the time, I think the characters are very similar, and I don’t know how I really feel about it, I do know that I feel super confused about the magic and how it is used, and I don’t get the motivation behind the characters to be together, but what confuses me the most is the system of the Order of Babel. I feel that in general I need more information with this book, it reads like a sequel, which is a problem because I feel that there’s much that I don’t know, although the characters try to clarify the past by sending us to live some of their past experiences, I cannot connect with them deeply, which is a shame because I think the potential of this book IS HUGE!! I can see its originality and I hope to enjoy the next half of it *fingers crossed*

☕️ Furia by Yamile Saied Méndez

I don’t want to advance much about my thoughts of the book, you’ll see it EVERYTHING on Friday in my full review, but basically and in summary I LOVED it!!!!! And I’m very happy to have read it, reading stories located in my country is not very common for me, so it felt special to see a portrait of my culture, on the other hand, it has also been super hard to read due to it touches terrible subjects although in force here in my country, such as gender violence and femicide. I promise that I’ll elaborate much more in my review, where I also give you my thoughts on each topic in the most honest way I can. Despite being hard to read at times, it’s incredible, the author has done a great job with the characters and the plot to make everything feel super fluid to read and I love the ending!

I will probably pick up the Gilded Wolves sequel, The Silvered Serpents, as I have an ARC which I’m super grateful for, so I hope my reading goes well and I feel a little more excited to grab the sequel and then share everything with you.

But I also hope to pick up another book, although I don’t want to mention anything because I’m not sure which one I want to read later, maybe some contemporary of my TBR to lighten everything a bit, since I come from reading heavy fantasy, I think it would be the best option. We’ll see! 😊

I just finished reading Gilded Wolves today and it was pretty “meh” to be honest, I think it has a lot of potential but the execution is super confusing, I’ll be talking more about it next week 😊✨

    • Thanks to you for stopping by! ❤️ I just finished it today and it was an average reading for me, although the idea is super original the execution is kind of messy, the author’s writing style is very beautiful, though. Hope the execution improves in the second book *fingers crossed* 😊✨
