A Book A Thought (1)

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. Hi loves!, I hope you’re having a great start to the week, I know it is hard to start after the weekend, so from here, I send THE BEST ENERGIES 🌻 for you all !. Today I bring you the weekly meme “It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?”, which I love since it allows us to keep abreast of our recent and future readings, so without further ado let’s start!!

What I Read Last Week

Never Fade (The Darkest Minds #2) by Alexandra Bracken

16150830Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”, but she knows what she really is: a monster.

When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.

As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

My MINI-THOUGHTS about my Re-Reading

📚 This book still hurts like the first time, I don’t know if that’s good, but it’s intense, that’s for sure
I love this trilogy I never tire of saying it, one of the best I’ve read, from the characters to the plot everything is intriguing and you can’t stop reading it
When I started reading it, it was a surprise to see that I didn’t remember ANYTHING about this book, and what is even more incredible is that I did not remember anything of the end lol. and WOW, THAT IT’S AN UNFORGABLE ENDING. I confess that I cried a little because it still hits me very hard the loss in all my heart
In spite of them, I enjoyed this book a lot and although I agree with my past myself , in that it’s a heavy book at times, I think I’ve enjoyed it more this second time around.
It’s funny that I’m already suffering and feeling all the emotions with a re-reading, can you imagine when I’ll read the fourth book for the first time?, I just hope to survive to tell you all about lol 📚

What I’m Reading At Present

Like Never and Always by Ann Aguirre

36331391On a hot summer night, a screech of brakes and shattering glass changes two lives forever.

Liv wakes in the hospital, confused when they call her Morgan. She assumes it’s a case of mistaken identity, yet when the bandages come off, it’s not her face in the mirror anymore. It’s her best friend Morgan’s.

Morgan always seemed to have the perfect life, yet Liv must navigate endlessly disturbing secrets of the criminal and murderous variety—and a romance that feels like a betrayal. Torn between the boy she loved as Liv and the boy she’s grown to love as Morgan, Liv still has to survive Morgan’s last request.

Goodreads

I have about 100 pages left to finish it and I have conflicting thoughts so far. I think the main idea is captivating and is what actually keeps me reading and wanting to know what will happen, but I’m not sure where the plot is going, because there are a lot of things going on but none has an answer so it’s something confused, there’s also a love triangle happening, which I HATE, but we’ll see how it all ends and maybe I’m surprised, because I think it has the potential to be really good (I’m writing this on Sunday, so I probably have it finished once the post gets published)

Well the Contemporary-A-Thon is finally happening this week from Sept. 17th (Today) through Sept. 23rd and I’m super excited, I’ve already told you it will be my first Read-A-Thon, so it’s all very new and I’m excited to find out how this will be for me. I plan to read all these books, hopefully, but if I don’t get to do it it will be fine as well, I don’t want to push myself too much, I just plan to enjoy it, that’s for sure.
I’ve heard great things about each of the books I’ve chosen and that’s great, I can’t wait to read them. If you want to know more about this Read-A-Thon, about its Challenges and which book fits in each one you can check out my Monthly & Contemporary-A-Thon TBR

🌸 As for the blog, well, this week I’ll probably be uploading the normal content, which I already had scheduled as a review and surelly continuing with my ABC book Challenge. And then next Monday, I’ll be uploading a whole post dedicated to how my week has gone and how much I’ve managed to read. I’ll tell you everything with details once I finish.
At one point I thought I could upload a daily post but I think that would be too much and I want to focus on reading and enjoying this Read-A-Thon.
💕 I’ll post everything I’ll read and my thoughts on Twitter every day, so if you want to follow me we can chat about it there.💕
And finally I want to tell you that I’ll probably upload mini-reviews about each book, letting you know all about my thoughts about it, probably next week 🌸

What are you reading this week?, are you enjoying it?
What have you finished reading?

  1. I recently read The Darkest Minds after hearing there would be a film for it (though I actually never saw the film 😂) and I LOVED it. It was such a refreshing throwback to the days when dystopian reigned supreme. But I was so excited to read the second one after finishing. I’ve been trying to find it at my local library but it keeps gettin snatched off the shelves before I get there LOL. Your reaction has me so worried! Don’t think I’m prepared for so much heartbreak 😭 I’m currently reading Sea Witch, Clockwork Prince, Escaping Houdini, and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown (audiobook) haha
