Monthly & Contemporary-A-Thon TBR [2018]

Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de SPRINGTIME (5)

🌸 Hi babes! I hope you’re having a great day. Today I bring you my TBR of the month of September, where I tell you about the readings that I’ve planned for this month. I’m super excited for this month I feel it will be super fun with the new experience of participating in a Read-A-Thon and I also feel super motivated to read, I think I’ll have time to do it which makes me very happy, my boyfriend is resuming his reading so that’s great since I can spend my time with him also reading a lit of bit, which I love doing, so I really don’t have excuses not to read as much as I want and finally knock out my TBR.
I’m going to use this month to read a lot because I know that I’ll be busy in October as I plan many renovations in my house, painting and that kind of thing and with work will be a bit crazy and I don’t know if I can read that much, but I’ll see how I manage. Meanwhile I’m really excited by my readings this month in general and I can’t wait to tell you the readings that I reserve for the Contemporary-A-Thon!

I’ll be reading a couple of books that I’ve wanted to read since ever, a re-reading, a couple of new releases, an ARC and something completely new for me, so without further ado let’s start!🌸

Contemporary-A-Thon TBR 📚

The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas

30969755There are no more cheerleaders in the town of Sunnybrook.

First there was the car accident—two girls gone after hitting a tree on a rainy night. Not long after, the murders happened. Those two girls were killed by the man next door. The police shot him, so no one will ever know why he did it. Monica’s sister was the last cheerleader to die. After her suicide, Sunnybrook High disbanded the cheer squad. No one wanted to be reminded of the girls they lost.

That was five years ago. Now the faculty and students at Sunnybrook High want to remember the lost cheerleaders. But for Monica, it’s not that easy. She just wants to forget. Only, Monica’s world is starting to unravel. There are the letters in her stepdad’s desk, an unearthed, years-old cell phone, a strange new friend at school. . . . Whatever happened five years ago isn’t over. Some people in town know more than they’re saying. And somehow Monica is at the center of it all.

There are no more cheerleaders in Sunnybrook, but that doesn’t mean anyone else is safe.

This book fits in the challenge: 7Read a contemporary that is a 5 star prediction. This is one of the books I had put on my 5 star prediction list, so it’s perfect for this challenge! & 2– Read a dark /taboo/spooky contemporary. It’s a Mystery/Thriller so I guess it fits.
I’m super excited to read this book I ADORED the author previous work, Little Monsters, so I have high expectations for this one

She’s enigmatic…. She’s beautiful. And she is about to expand Emi’s understanding of family, acceptance, and true romance.

I love the author’s writing style, so I expect from this book an adorable love story

Giant Days, Vol.1 by John Allison

25785993Susan, Esther, and Daisy started at university three weeks ago and became fast friends. Now, away from home for the first time, all three want to reinvent themselves. But in the face of handwringing boys, “personal experimentation,” influenza, mystery-mold, nu-chauvinism, and the willful, unwanted intrusion of “academia,” they may be lucky just to make it to spring alive. Going off to university is always a time of change and growth, but for Esther, Susan, and Daisy, things are about to get a little weird.

This book fits the challenge: 4Read a contemporary in a non-traditional format & 1Read a contemporary with orange on the cover (This has some orange tones at the bottom so YEAH!)

September TBR📚

These are the books I’ll be reading during the month, which are out of the Read-A-Thon

Finally reading it!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #1) by Jenny Han

18051352What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them… all at once?

Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

Finally I’ll read this book!!!, I don’t know why it has taken me so long because I really love Jenny Han but well I guess the time has come. Also with all the hype that there’s around the movie I’ve felt more and more curious about this book and after reading it I’ll be able to watch the movie, I’m super excited about it. I feel like I’ll love it because the author’s writing style is beautiful

ARC of the Month

36331391On a hot summer night, a screech of brakes and shattering glass changes two lives forever.

I’m really looking forward to reading this book, you know I love mystery books and I feel that the synopsis sounds like something I would enjoy, so that’s exciting. I have never read the author before so I hope I like it and I’ll tell you all about it once I read it

  1. The book I really want to read this month is HP6 and Rich People Problems- it will be nice to have a progress in my reread and get a series off my list! When I read the prompt for dark/taboo love story, the first one that pops into my mind is Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, which is about incest. It can’t get darker and more taboo than that!

  2. Good luck with the Contemporary-A-Thon! I’m also participating and I’m so excited to kick it off already 😀

Weirdly, I read Giant Days vol 1 in the first round of CAT. I didn’t really enjoy it but I hope you do 🙂 I also LOVED Everything Leads to You when I read it last year so I’m excited to hear what you think.

  4. TATBILB consumed my entire life in August. I had ignored it for so long and am so glad that some part of my brain refused to watch the film before I had read it! Also, I nearly picked up The Cheerleaders once when I was in a bookshop buying books that I really shouldn’t have been buying and was intrigued, would be interested to know what you thought of it!
