π Hi, guys! I hope you’re having an incredible day full of good readings and beautiful moments! β€οΈ Today I bring you a post where we will chat a little about new authors that I’ve met this year and have loved. Sometimes I think that it’s also super important to give the author who is behind such wonderful works the place he/she deserves, so I’m very excited to tell you a little about these six incredible writers. π I think this year has been super positive for me in terms of finding new authors that I’ve loved and I’m dying to try again, and I think it’s incredible because last year I had good new authors for me too, but this time in addition to it, many of these books will be among my favorites of the year too because WOW, I just can’t pick other authors this time. π₯Ί In general, I don’t like being repetitive in these types of posts, I mean I don’t like talking about a book and then bringing you another end of the year post with the same book, you know? but this time I can’t help it because I really LOVE the style of each of these authors and although it may be a bit of a spoiler for my top favorites of the year, I’ve decided to include them anyway and give them the recognition they deserve as writers. ππ» ππ» ππ» So this 2020 I’ve chosen authors that for me have stood out a lot for different reasons, but all have made me feel SO many emotions while reading their books, so that’s why I’m dying to give them a second chance in 2021! π₯ Below each of them, I’ll specify why I was captivated by their writing style and thus be able to provide you with a post with much detail. π I hope you enjoy the post and that you can find new authors to enjoy too & without further ado let’s get started, my love!π
Β π²Β Hi guys, I hope you’re having a wonderful day, full of good readings.β€οΈ Today I’m super excited to come back with a top 5/recommendation post, this time all about books with beautiful descriptions.Β ππ»Β Lately, I’ve been working a lot on my WIP because I’m participating in NaNoWriMo, and because of this I’ve realized my weaknesses at the time of writing, and I think that my biggest weak point and where I really need to focus is on the descriptive scenes.Β π₯Ί So thinking about this a lot has inspired me to create the list of books that I bring you today, and not only I adore all the books that I’ll mention below, but I also want to make this post as a kind of recognition to all these incredible authors for their wonderful work in creating the most beautiful descriptive scenes that make each chapter atmospheric and even almost poetic.Β πΒ As I’ve mentioned in a few posts in the past, I’m not the biggest fan of over-descriptive plots that can spend hundreds of pages talking about weather and tree shapes, but I do appreciate it a lot when I find the right amount of descriptions about the surroundings or even about the characters because it gives depth to the plot and they can make us feel almost like we are there within the story experiencing everything alongside with the characters.Β π It’s a great tool to bring stories to life, so today I’m going to share with you my 5 favorite books with these characteristics. I hope you enjoy it a lot, that this is something of your interest, and above all, that you can find new titles to add to your TBR, which always makes me very happy & now, without further ado, let’s get started!Β π²
π Hi guys! I hope youβre having a beautiful day full of good readings.β€οΈ Today I bring you a new postβ¦ my October Wrap Up! where Iβll tell you ALL about my readings of the month. I’m super happy to have shared the month of October with you and besides, being here to share everything about my readings, you know that I LOVE horror, so I had a really fun month, watching a lot of horror movies and reading some pretty creepy stuff, and, in general, I’m quite happy with what I’ve been able to do during the month. π In my personal life, it has been my mother’s birthday, and being able to spend it with her despite everything that’s happening in the world has been a blessing, always keeping in mind how lucky I’m to have my family close and to be able to visit them more often, that has really brought me very nice energy to my month, I’ve also resumed my morning walks ππ», now that everything is a little calmer the activities are being regulated better in my province, so I’ve had a little more freedom, always using a facemask, guys, super important, let’s take care of each other! So it has been a beautiful month,I’m also planning and working a little on my WIP, but I’ll start writing as such in November, like many of us I’ll be participating in Nanowrimo and super excited about it, because it will be my first time so we’ll see, maybe I’ll be sharing a bit of that with you next month. π₯Ί π₯Ί π₯Ί
Of course, I want to thank you for all the support and love you’ve given me and my blog this month, it has been wonderful and it’s always a great blessing to see all those comments and likes and visits, at the end of the day to think that so many people have been taking their time to interact with me really means a lot, so thank you, my friends, you’re wonderful & I’m here super excited for another month together! π
Now about my reading month, I think I would have liked to do better and maybe read one more book, but most of myself is like super happy with what I’ve achieved, during the previous month I’ve reached a much-needed harmony about how I manage my time and being kind to myself has been first, I’m very happy to have so many passions and reading, regardless of the number of books, it will always be one of them, so I’m truly happy for each book I read. π₯° I’ve participated in two readathons this month, one of them is Hocus Pocus Readathon & the other is Gothtober Readathon, if you want to know more about them you can check my October TBR. I’ve had a lot of fun with both, I’ve combined several of my readings to make it easier for myself and I double up some challenges and promps, so I’ve done quite well in both. ππ» I think the positive of any readathon is feeling motivated to read and feel that emotion, you know? so super accomplished! π₯³ What I’m most excited about my readings this month is that everything I’ve read I’ve enjoyed, I didn’t have a single bad reading this month, which is INCREDIBLE π, you know that I’m quite picky with the books I read, so it’s a pleasant surprise. I had a couple of readings that surprised me a lot, giving me much more than I expected from them. I’ve had another couple of readings with very shocking, intense, and interesting stories & Others spooky but adorable with incredible characters. π»
So, sorry to make my introduction always so long, don’t hate me π, & without further ado, let’s get started, I’m excited to share my readings with you! π
A young woman living in a rigid, puritanical society discovers dark powers within herself in this stunning, feminist fantasy debut.
In the lands of Bethel, where the Prophetβs word is law, Immanuelle Mooreβs very existence is blasphemy. Her motherβs union with an outsider of a different race cast her once-proud family into disgrace, so Immanuelle does her best to worship the Father, follow Holy Protocol, and lead a life of submission, devotion, and absolute conformity, like all the other women in the settlement.
But a mishap lures her into the forbidden Darkwood surrounding Bethel, where the first prophet once chased and killed four powerful witches. Their spirits are still lurking there, and they bestow a gift on Immanuelle: the journal of her dead mother, who Immanuelle is shocked to learn once sought sanctuary in the wood.
Fascinated by the secrets in the diary, Immanuelle finds herself struggling to understand how her mother could have consorted with the witches. But when she begins to learn grim truths about the Church and its history, she realizes the true threat to Bethel is its own darkness. And she starts to understand that if Bethel is to change, it must begin with her.
π Hi, my beautifull bookish friends! I hope youβre having the most incredible day with the best readings.β€οΈ Today I bring you a new Monthly TBR, where I’m sharing with you my reading plans for the month of October. Guys, I’m SO EXCITED cause the horror month has officially begun and it’s one of my favorite months of the year because if you don’t know it yet, you should know that I LOVE everything that has to do with scary things: movies, books, EVERYTHING. π So like every year I will be watching many spooky series and horror movies, as well as those that are within the genre like, mystery or suspense, and obviously, I’m here today to share with you ALL my readings, of course, that are super spooky and disturbing, so really really excited and happy that this season begins. π» Here in Argentina, there’s no such thing as Halloween, so I’ll be celebrating it on my own, like every year!!! and I hope you stay there all this month accompanying me, I’ve planned some spooky recommendations and other posts that I’m really excited about to share with you, so stay tuned, it will be a beautiful and creepy month! π₯³ As always before I start to tell you a bit about my plans for the month, I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all the support and love you have given me the previous month, I’m SOOOO happy to have you in my life, you have no idea, this blog means the world for me, as well as being part of this community that’s so wonderful. π I LOVE YOU, ALWAYS & ALWAYS. π₯Ί π₯Ί π₯Ί
So, I plan this month to participate in two readathons, I really couldn’t choose only one and LOVE the ideas of both, the creators have been super original and you can see both have worked so hard, so I want to give my support by participating, it will be SO MUCH FUN. ππ» The first will be Hocus Pocus Readathon π§π»ββοΈ, a Readathon that I’m sure you’ve heard mentioned, is created by @pagesnink and @werewolflious & takes place from October 1st until the 31st. I LOVE that in this Readathon we have Teams: “Team Sanderson Sisters”, “Team Undead” & “Team Trick or Treaters”. Each Team has its own prompts, as well as each Team also has a Strength and a Weakness, all of which is perfectly detailed on Twitter, where you’ll find a thread with all the information you need to know, also where you can join to win points for your team. In my case, I’ll be #TEAMSANDERSONSISTERS and super excited for my team, and I have a very exciting stack to share with you later. On the other hand, we have Gothtober Readathon π, which let me tell you, it has some BEAUTIFUL graphics, you can see the work put into it and I simply love each of the promps that I’ll later be sharing with you. This Gothic Readathon is hosted by @ladette_M, @Oliviascatastro, and @llittlewolf_ & will be taking place throughout the whole month of October as well. This also has a wonderful thread on Twitterwhere you can go to see all the info and also some recommendations for each prompt, which I’ll share with you below.
I’ve been able to put together a stack with books that I’ll be convincing and repeating for many of the prompts of both Readathons, so I don’t have to read one for each prompt because it would be impossible for me to do so. But I’m really happy with what I accomplished, I have a decent stack of spooky books that I’m very excited to read. π₯° To be honest with you I’ll not be prioritizing my ARCs this month, I want to mention it directly because I have to be true to myself and this month I feel like I want to read other things, and that’s fine, even so, I always enjoy my ARCs and love the possibility of being able to be approved for each one of them, so I’ll read more in November. π And I think that’s it, hope I don’t forget to mention anything, I’m super excited about jumping right into what’s important right and sharing ALL my readings for this month with you, so without further ado, make yourself comfortable, prepare a delicious coffee & LET’S START! π
π Hi, guys! I hope you’re having the most wonderful day, surrounded by AMAZING readings.β€οΈ Today I’m more than excited because as you’ll see from the title I’ll be sharing with you the most spooky books of my TBR, that could become possible readings for Halloween season in October!I know you’re probably thinking “Sofi, it’s August, are you okay?” lol and YES, I KNOW! π But I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I want to read that kind of spooky, creepy, atmospherically engaging plotline. So I thought, even though it’s August and October is still a little while away, it would be fun to gather my possible readings for Halloween and, by the way, know your opinions on each book on my list and thus be able to create a scary stack to read in the future. π Also, of course, I’d love to hear your spooky recommendations for me, as I’m ready to add them all to my TBR.
When I have in mind reading something spooky in general I think of a spooky atmosphere that keeps you on the edge of the seat wanting to know what will happen, I also love anything that has to do with witches, it’s my jam & of course, weird and dark plots. So you’ll find a bit of all of that on my list today. π
I hope you like the idea, that you can enjoy the post, and that you especially find new readings for your own TBR! ππ» You know that I would love to know everything you think in the comments, it will be a lot of fun, so let’s START! π Read More »
