🌘 Hi, friends! I hope you’re having a wonderful day, full of the best readings.❤️ Today I’m super excited because I bring you a post that I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of weeks, I thought it would be fun to share with you my favorite books with the strangest and most peculiar plots.👏🏻 If you follow my blog for a while you already know that I adore rare books that come out of the box and dare to do something new and innovative with their plots, especially I LOVE when mundane or everyday life is mixed with paranormal, strange elements, or magic, as well as I love plots that focus a little on giving life to their characters and settings, taking the time to develop them in an atmospheric and addictive way, but never leaving aside that strange and kind of dark vibe that pushes you to keep reading to know what will happen. 😍 These are the types of books that are 100% for me, that’s why in this post I wanted to bring them all here together to share them with you.
I know that this type of book will not be for everyone, and that’s fine, I like to bring you particular and different things so that we can also share our experiences and thoughts, so if it isn’t for you, that’s super valid too, let me know all in the comments. 😊 So, as I was saying, this time it will be all about atmospheric, dark, and kind of twisted books at times, without a doubt, they all have the same characteristic that they’re all dark and involve a bit of the horror genre at times in different measures. 🌲 But they’re all highly addictive books with unexpected twists and gripping mysterious plots, so I highly recommend them if these are factors that resonate with you. 🌟 In addition, I’ve also decided to include some books with these characteristics that I haven’t read yet, but they’re in my TBR so you can have more options and also add them to your TBR if you want. So without further ado, I hope you enjoy this post very much, have an entertaining moment & LET’S GET STARTED! 🌘
⛅️ Hi, amores! I hope you’re having a beautiful day and an amazing start to the week, obviously, full of the most wonderful readings! ❤️ Today super excited to bring you a recommendation post after a long time of having made one, you know that I LOVE recommending books, but I like to give it a little twist making it more entertaining and fun, so this time I had the idea to recommend those books that under my point of view are perfect to read during those months of the year where the seasons are changing. 🙌🏻 I hope you friends understand what I mean by this, but just in case, I’ll be more specific about my idea, the books that I’ll talk about next are, on the one hand, books that I’ve read and really loved, but they’re also perfect books to read while we’re moving from one season to another to adapt to a different climate and/or time of year. I’ve also decided to add a couple more books per season, but this time books that belong to my TBR, cause although I haven’t read them yet I think they have themes, ideas, plot bases, or atmospheres similar to those respective books that I do have read, you know? especially to be able to bring you a greater number of titles that you can add to your TBR and enjoy! 🥰 I love to make recommendations based on climates or seasons, but I don’t like to focus only on one season since we all live in different hemispheres, so I prefer to make a more general post, so we can all participate. I hope you enjoy the post very much, that it’s an idea that you like & that above all, you can find new books to add to your TBR and read at some point. 💫 I LOVE you deeply, infinite thanks for always being there supporting me with each post, and without further ado, LET’S START! ⛅️
⚡️ Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful day full of good readings and wonderful moments! ❤️ Today I’m more than excited to share with you this second post in the series of “end of the year posts” and this time I bring you my Surprises & my Disappointments of this 2020. 🙌🏻 On the one hand, we have those books from which I didn’t expect so much and they ended up surprising me by how much I enjoyed them and on the other hand, those which I had high expectations from, but ended up disappointing me. As always, I want to clarify that these opinions are only my own and don’t mean that we all have the same experiences with these books and that’s fine 😊 & on the other hand I also want to clarify that the group of books that today I want to share with you that were surprising for me, are books that really captivated me but they didn’t reach my top of the year as favorites, so this is also a good opportunity to give them their moment of recognition, appreciate them and tell you a little about them. 😍 I also want to tell you that those books that are in the group of my disappointments this year aren’t bad books at all, in fact, I’ve enjoyed them, it just that I get into them with high expectations or I expected much more from them and they just didn’t live up toand that’s why they’re in my disappointments. Which doesn’t mean they aren’t great reads anyway. 🌟 In short, I want this to be a fun post to share and exchange opinions, always knowing that we are all unique and different and that’s wonderful. 💞 So you know that I hope to know everything you think in the comments about these books!
I hope you enjoy the posts a lot, so get yourself something delicious to drink and eat ☕️, make yourself comfortable & let’s get started, I’m excited! ⚡️
📸 Hi, guys! I hope you’re having the most wonderful day & you’re starting the week in the best way!❤️ Today I’m very excited because it’s the beginning of what will be the end of the year post series that I’m very excited to share with you! 🥺 To open this week I want to start with one of the most fun and beautiful posts to do and admire, and it’s the post where I show you all my favorite covers of this 2020!!! 😍 I started with these posts two years ago, so I’ll leave you here my favorite covers of 2018 & 2019 in case you want to check them out, they’re also books that sound incredible, but as always in these posts, I choose to focus 100% on the covers dedicating this space to admire the beauty and incredible work of the illustrators. 👏🏻 👏🏻 I don’t have a specific number to choose my covers, I’ll only be showing you those that have captivated me and have become an obsession for me to look at & also, this is a personal opinion so I understand that you think that I’ve left some out or that someones I’ve chosen aren’t that impressive, but that’s the magic of sharing, right? different opinions are gold. So, I’m a cover lover and although I know that books should not be judged by them, today they’ll have the distinction they deserve. 🤩 I hope you like this post a lot, so make yourself comfortable, enjoy the view & let’s get started! 📸
🌙 Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day, full of amazing spooky readings! ❤️ First of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃 It’s not a thing where I live, but I don’t care lol, I personally love it, I always been such a big fan of horror things, I remember seeing spooky and horror movies and videos since ever, they’re just my jam, so here I am today celebrating it with you and sharing a moment that I hope is fun for you as much as it’s for me. 🥰
I’ve decided to come on this special day with this Halloween Creatures Book Tag 👏🏻 that has a lot of fun prompts to answer and so maybe you can find new recommendations, and it’s also always entertaining to know your opinions about each of my answers so don’t hesitate to leave your comment below, it always makes me SO happy. I found this book tag on the Paperbacks and Planners blog, Robin‘s wonderful book blog, and I think looks amazing, I also loved her answers so check it out too! 😍 I hope you enjoy it, I want to thank you in advance for being here with me today sharing another post and for taking the time to comment and read, it means a lot to me, so without further ado, let’s start with this creepy & fun book tag. 🌙
🎃 Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful and spooky day, enjoying all your readings.❤️ Today is the beginning of a series of posts where I’ll be sharing with you some lists and recommendations of spooky books so that you can add to your TBR and maybe read at some point!😍 I’m SO excited to share the horror season with you, you know that I LOVE everything that has to do with horror, so it’s a pleasure for me to be putting together these lists full of interesting books for you. I’ve decided to divide these posts into Lists and Recommendations due to the fact that some of the books I’ve read but others not, and I decided anyway to include those books that are in my TBR but I haven’t read yet, to make this series more interesting and be able to bring you more spooky titles to you to check out. 👏🏻 Obviously, I can’t talk in-depth about the ones I haven’t read, but I can tell you that I’m 100% interested in reading them and they sound INCREDIBLE, so I know they could also be of interest to you.
This time I brought you a list of more than 10 books with super spooky, creepy, twisted, and above all, weird plots. 🦇 I don’t know about you guys, but I’m a big fan of plots where you don’t really know what the hell is going on, but you’re just can’t put the book down cause you feel you’re so entertaining and hooked about it.I love those vibes of suspense, tension, and discomfort that this type of plot can generate 😨, but I also know that they’re not for everyone, I think that these types of books will be focused on a number of specific readers, BUT I still wanted to do this list because I personally love this kind of books, and know that if there’s someone out there like me, then they’ll have a source to turn to. Anyway, if weird plots aren’t your jam, these books feature similar factors that I love too, like family dynamics, beautiful aesthetics & super atmospheric surroundings. 🥰 I hope you like my list and that you can find new books to enjoy, you know I love doing this and share it with you, so thanks for always being there ❤️ & without further ado, let’s get started! 🎃
🌻 Hi guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful day full of good readings.❤️ Today I bring you a new post… my September Wrap Up! where I’ll tell you ALL about my readings of the month. I’m quite pleased with my reading month, I think I could read a lot of what I expected and that makes me very happy, but also I’ve felt very relaxed in terms of my life as a reader, you know? I think I’ve learned to balance a bit my “normal life” with my “life as a reader” without stressing so much about it and that has been something very positive this month. 🥰 I found myself enjoying most of my readings as well, and with that extra non-pressure feeling that I’ve been having, it was even a more enjoyable experience that I hope to take with me into October, which will be a pretty ambitious month for me. 🎃 Still, I want to continue to feel relaxed and read just when I feel like it, and know that it’s okay if I read 4, 5, or 6 books a month, that that’s wonderful and I don’t have to push myself to read more. So in summary, I think I have had a month quite in tune and in harmony with myself, accepting myself with all and failures, knowing that it’s okay if I want to do things that don’t have to do with reading, and basically be at peace with the blogging process as well 😊. I think that if it’s something that interests you, I could talk more in another post about the balance between daily life, blogging, and reading, I think it’s something interesting to discuss.
As I always do, I want to thank you immensely for the support and love you have towards me and towards the blog, I love you deeply, you know that and I know how lucky I’m to have each one of you commenting and liking my posts, I always feel all that lovely energy and it makes me SO happy. I want to say thank you again, for having voted for me in this 2020 Book Blogging Awards, because I’ve won for Best Recommendations 🎊 and I still cannot believe it, it’s such a great honor, YOU’RE INCREDIBLE & thank you SO SO much! ❤️❤️❤️ In other news, but not least, I’ve changed many things on the blog, as you can see, and I want to thank you for your words of support and love towards those changes 🥺, I know that I’m not a graphic designer and there’s much that I still have to learn, but I’m happy with the changes, I’m about to celebrate 4 years with the blog and I already felt like changing a little to attract new energy of love and creation. I’m very excited about this new stage and I hope that you’re there to live it together.
So, going a little more specifically to my readings this month, it has been a very positive month. I’ve participated in the Latinx Book Bingo, but I decide to do it something different and just focus on a stack of books all by Latinx authors and try to read as much as possible, obviously, it was too much and I knew that, so I didn’t get to read the vast majority, BUT I’m still happy because almost all my readings of the month were by Latinx authors so YAY! 😍 I‘ve even participated in a couple of blog tours that I’m very proud of because I’ve adored both Latinx authors releases, both super important readings, I’ll tell you more later. 😊 I was also looking forward to catching up on a well-known trilogy of which I had an ARC from the second book, andI have unpopular thoughts about it 🙄, so you should stick around to find out, but yeah, I was just hoping for a little more from them. Then I encouraged myself to read a bit of contemporary and especially romance, which isn’t my genre at all, but I’m glad to be giving it another chance. Spring started where I live, so I thought it would be a good time to get out of my comfort zone. And I also read a book with a lot of hype, and you know that always terrifies me, but I think this time it was worth it, I loved it and it has that horror/gothic touch that I had not read for a long time. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
So, as you can see, I have a lot that I want to talk to you about, so without further ado, make yourself comfortable, I hope you enjoy & let’s get started! 🌻
An isolated mansion. A chillingly charismatic aristocrat. And a brave socialite drawn to expose their treacherous secrets. . . .
From the author of Gods of Jade and Shadow comes a novel set in glamorous 1950s Mexico.
After receiving a frantic letter from her newlywed cousin begging for someone to save her from a mysterious doom, Noemí Taboada heads to High Place, a distant house in the Mexican countryside. She’s not sure what she will find – her cousin’s husband, a handsome Englishman, is a stranger, and Noemí knows little about the region.
Noemí is also an unlikely rescuer: She’s a glamorous debutante, and her chic gowns and perfect red lipstick are more suited for cocktail parties than amateur sleuthing. But she’s also tough and smart, with an indomitable will, and she is not afraid: not of her cousin’s new husband, who is both menacing and alluring; not of his father, the ancient patriarch who seems to be fascinated by Noemí; and not even of the house itself, which begins to invade Noemi’s dreams with visions of blood and doom.
Her only ally in this inhospitable abode is the family’s youngest son. Shy and gentle, he seems to want to help Noemí but might also be hiding dark knowledge of his family’s past. For there are many secrets behind the walls of High Place. The family’s once colossal wealth and faded mining empire kept them from prying eyes, but as Noemí digs deeper she unearths stories of violence and madness.
And Noemí, mesmerized by the terrifying yet seductive world of High Place, may soon find it impossible to ever leave this enigmatic house behind.
🌻 Hi, my beautiful bookish friends! I hope you’re having the most incredible day with the best readings.❤️ Today I bring you a new Monthly TBR, where I share with you my reading plans for the month of September. Can you believe that there are only 4 months until the end of the year? It’s just so crazy, but looking at how our 2020 has been maybe it’s a good thing, right? 👏🏻 I’m very excited about my plans for this month because I just coming out of my reading slump and I feel ready to read a little bit more, which is great! Even so, I’ll not promise that I’ll read each of the books that I’ve planned because I know that sometimes I lose control and I get a little ambitious lol, but I do want to try to read as much as I can and the most important thing is that I hope to enjoy the process. 😊 Of course, I want to thank you for always supporting me, August has been a great month for the blog and also for me, and in large part I owe it to you and to every comment of love that means the world for me, so I never want to miss the chance to say THANK YOU and I really appreciate what you do for me. 🥺
Perhaps you have noticed that now there’s a small sunflower accompanying this month’s title and that means that spring will be coming this month to Argentina, so I’m planning to focus on reading some contemporary books that I’ve had for a while, since I feel that the warmer weather is perfect for it. 🥰 So, this month I’ll be participating in a Readathon and that’s Latinx Book Bingo and will take place from September 15 to October 15, which is Hispanic Heritage Month, is hosted by Paola, Allie (Allie With Books), and Sofia (Bookish Wanderess). For this Readathon the girls have created a Bingo Borad, of course, which I’ll show you below and maybe even though some of my readings will coincide with some promps, I’ve decided to focus on the books I already own, so in general my challenge will be to read as many books by Latinx authors and representations as humanly possible throughout the month of September, maybe I’ll also be reading some in October, but you know that I usually focus more on spooky books during that month, so my goal in September is to read as much as I can. 😍 I love supporting my people and this wonderful idea, so if you didn’t know about it yet and you feel like it, I invite you to participate by at least reading a couple of books or just one book by a Latinx author, that would be incredible to show your support. 💞 Apart from thisI’ll also be focusing on my ARCs and I have several Blog Tours in which I will be participating as well, I feel super excited for them, because they are books that I’m dying to read and share the experience with you. 🙌🏻
I think that this month I’ll not be using my “Back Up Pile” because I’ll already be adding a lot of books by Latinx authors, so I want to focus mainly on them, and I’ll see as the month progresses. I’m super excited to share everything that I’ll be reading this month 😄, I hope you enjoy it and tell me what you’ll be reading in the comments, you know that I love chatting with you. Now, without further ado, let’s get started! 🌻
☀️ Hi, guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful day, full of good readings & amazing moments.❤️ Super excited for today’s post, this is the beginning of a new series of super chill posts that I’ll be bringing you every Sunday from now on! YAY!! 🥳 These will be our “Colorful Bookish Sundays” and it will be, basically, to organize my priority list, choosing some books from my Goodreads TBR to add to my list which I’ll check every month when creating my monthly TBRs, that way I hope to start reading those books that I’m most excited about, so they don’t end up in my TBR for years as many of them are already doing 😅 You may not know this, but I have a mini book list that I go to when I build my TBR every month, but it’s super outdated and I’ve been wanting to renew it for a while now, so I thought it would be a fun and different idea to do it, and also share with you the process and know your thoughts, which always helps me a lot to make decisions.
I’m looking to give to this post series a fun and relaxed look, so I decided to show you a specific color every Sunday, I LOVE some good beautiful covers and even more when there’s a beautiful color palette in them, so I think it could be interesting organize them by color, chat a little about them, and as always try to organize myself better with my books and my future readings 😍 & you can know what color we’ll play every Sunday based on the icon that will accompany the title, but I’ll also let you know below.
The dynamic will be to show you the selected books and then separate them by categories to finally make a decision of which one/ones will be my choice to add to my list of priorities and obviously, I would love to know what you think about them! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
I’m SO happy to bring you posts on Sundays again, it seems like a fun idea and hopefully, it will be entertaining for both you and me. 🥺 I hope you like it, I know it sounds weird now and you’re probably thinking “Sofi, what are you doing?” 😂 but have patience, I promise I’ll do my best and we’ll see how the idea progresses over time.I LOVE YOU ❤️, thanks for the constant support, it means a lot to me, so now get comfortable, prepare your favorite drink and let’s start! ☀️
