2 Years Blogiversary!: so GRATEFUL💕

Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de SPRINGTIME (1)

Guys, can you believe that this time of year has just come again?! I can’t believe it, I knew that my anniversary would be here soon, but I received the notification and honestly tooks me by surprise.

2018-11-14 (3)

I’m so pleased to be part of this community, it’s, honestly, one of the best things that have ever happened to me. And to think that 2 years ago since I created this small space to talk about books, is simply crazy. To be honest with all of you, I didn’t think it would last so long, I had tried before to do something like this, and I had always felt discouraged and I had given up because things didn’t happen as I expected, and I really didn’t think that someone would read something that I would write, like never. But this time it was different, and I guess it’s because I’m a different person, I’ve always had a great lack of confidence with myself and in part, this blog, everything that I’ve achieved and learned with it, has made me grow a lot and I’ve discovered that I’m capable of doing something nice and something that others want to read, there’s something so deep and beautiful about it 😍
So here I am, 2 years after starting, super excited to continue this journey and I can’t be happier, nor feel more blessed by all that I’ve lived in here. I’m super emotional right now, but well, I guess I knew what would happen once I started to write, for those who still don’t know, I’m a sensitive soul and my hufflepuff heart can’t handle all my emotions 😅

🌟 I hadn’t thought about anything specific for this post, I really feel like put out there what comes out from my heart, I want to thank all of you and just open my emotions. I’m honestly so grateful to all of you guys, I started this blog with very little knowledge in the language, you already know my mother language is Spanish, so creating a blog entirely in English terrified me, but at the same time it was my dream, so I decided to just do it, even though I’ve received hundreds of criticisms, because my writing was awful or because I wasn’t writing in my own language, I didn’t care and I continue doing it and I’m so proud of myself because I’ve learned so much and despite maybe you don’t see it, I feel that I’ve grown a lot since I started, and it makes me feel very proud of myself, it was worth it, and in the end, all those criticisms have helped me to improve. I’ve also had so much support and words of love from many beautiful people I’ve met in the community, I’m so happy and it still moves every day, to see many of you grow as well, I’ve been able to have fluent conversations with some of you and I’ve also been happy every day of my life to be part of something as beautiful and enriching as this community and the people that make it up, which are all of you. I feel that we connect in such beautiful ways, I feel that many of us don’t feel included in our daily life or we are simply shy or we don’t find someone to share our love for reading and other things, and being part of something makes you feel incredible and we all make up a kind of very beautiful modern family. I really feel part of something wonderful and I’ll always be honored by it 💕🌟

44,727 people have seen my blog during these 2 years and I’m not sure if that’s a lot for you, but for me it’s just incredible. The blog already has 2,287 wonderful people who have decided to click on the button to follow and support me with this project which makes me so happy. I’ve never been that kind of person who cares about numbers, in fact, recently I’ve started to be more active in my social networks, I guess I’m a bit old-fashioned, but I needed to highlight these numbers because they’ve blown my mind, I can’t believe all the support and it just makes me feel loved and valued. Sometimes it’s difficult because I don’t know how to express all the love I feel but I want you to understand that I’m eternally grateful for every like, every follower and especially for every comment, because those comments means the world for me 😭 💛

❤️ I’m planning to do something in the next few weeks, I’ve been thinking a lot and I feel that the best way to celebrate these 2 years is to highlight each week a group of incredible book bloggers that I love, respect and admire. Because in what other way could I thank you more than highlighting your wonderful work and sharing it with everyone, right?. I hope that with this series of post that I’m setting up you can meet and support other bloggers and maybe you’re one of them, because I’ll try to highlight as many as possible, with this I hope to express the love and gratitude that I have with the community and maybe, you can meet your next favorite book blogger.
I really hope you like this idea and support it and share it everywhere, so we’ll continue with train of love and support❤️

I would like to finish this by thanking again because it seems that I can’t thank enough in a single post lol. I also want to tell you that please don’t feel discouraged if things don’t go as you expected, this is especially for my beloved international bloggers, I know that we have close doors everywhere, but we keep strong and I’m proud of you.
For all in general, keep fighting for what you want, and above all, don’t let anyone tell you that what you are doing is wrong or that you’ll never succeed, please, you need to know that all your content is very valuable and I know all the effort you put into it, so you should feel proud of yourself. I LOVE YOU GUYS, HONESTLY. And you know you can contact me at any time if you ever need it 💕

I’ll take a few weeks off 💛

Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de SPRINGTIME (3)

Hi guys, I hope you’re having an incredible week. Today’s post will be a bit different, but I felt it would be appropriate to make a separate post just to tell you this

🌟 I’ll be going on vacation with my boyfriend for 2 weeks, we’ll be visiting family and just rest from work and those things, so I’ll take advantage of this vacation, to take a break from the blog and social networks as well. I’ve already commented something about this in my TBR of the month, but I felt that I had to tell you again in a separate post. This break that I’m taking has nothing to do with me not enjoying what I do, I mean blogging stuffs, or something like that, in fact, I LOVE this community, being part of it is something I’m always grateful for and the blog has given me the chance to know so many beautiful people, so I just wanted to clarify that. I’ve decided that I really need a break, you’ll understand more than anyone, runing a blog is not easy and sometimes it can be a little stressful, so I think this break will be really well, to be with myself and with my loved ones and simply rest, to return renewed. I really feel that everyone should take even a few days for oneself, it’s very healthy. And then I’ll be back, maybe before Halloween, I still don’t know, to be honest. But it will be a surprise and I will be uploading some fun tag and also telling you about my readings of the month. I will not be pausing my readings, at all, in fact I’ve already packed all the books that I will take with me and I’ll tell you everything I think about them once I return.🌟

🎃These are the books that I’ll take with me🎃

In my October TBR I told you that my boyfriend will be uploading his review for One of Us is Lying, and he will! He’s still reading it 😂 💕 , but once he finish it, he has already told me that he wants to write the review and I’ll upload it when I have some time maybe next week.

❤️ And well, to finish I can’t stop thanking you for all the support I feel from all of you, with the blog and with me personal life. I’m so happy to be part of this incredible and supportive world. So as always, I hope you have some incredible weeks, I can’t wait to go back and check all your posts and support tou as I love to do, even so, I’ll try to check out some of your posts, comment and answer some of your comments when I have the time. I LOVE YOU GUYS!❤️

Participating in my first Read-A-Thon EVER🎉 & Currently Reading📖

Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de SPRINGTIME (1)

Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day, I know it’s difficult to start the week but, well, you can do it and from here I send you all the positive vibes for your week 🌟

I’m so excited to share this with you, you’ll know what it’s about by title lol, but anyway I want to tell you that I’ll be participating in my first Read-A-Thon ever!!😄. This is so excited really. I never wanted to do one before, because honestly I wasn’t sure how they worked and the whole thing of the reading pressure in such a short time made me kind of anxious, but I have always always enjoyed reading your updates of your participations in these challenges and I also believe that they’re my favorite videos to watch made by Booktubers, so after thinking about it a lot I decided that maybe it was time to, at least, try it for myself 💪🏻 Read More »

Why have I become a Book Depository affiliate? 🤔

I’m a Book Depository affiliate!

Hi guys, I hope you’re having a great day, today I want to talk about something new that I’ve decided to do. I made the decision a few days ago to send an e-mail to the people of Book Depository and tell them that I was interested of becoming an affiliate, to be able to provide direct links to the page so that you can use them and buy the books directly from there. They answered me very quickly and kindly telling me that I was already an affiliate, which made me feel very happy because I honestly adore the page and it’s a pleasure for me to have them present, in a small part, in my blog.

I wanted to be honest and talk about this, because I want to tell you the reasons why I decided to be affiliated of the page. I’m from Argentina as many of you know, or what most would call an international blogger, and things here are really difficult economically at the time, due to the change of government and others matters. So for me it’s very difficult to buy books where I live, since obviously they are extremely expensive and for the moment they just keep going up. Because of this I have always found in Book Depository a super reliable page where I can buy my books in a much cheaper way, also since their shipping is free, one only ends up paying the price of the book itself and that’s great. Unfortunately now with the rise of the dollar is also a bit more expensive for me to buy them on the page and because of this and because I’ve been recommend the page for years now, I wanted to try to be an affiliated, this way every time you click a link provided by me, in my reviews, wrap up or in other types of posts in my blog, (‘ve even provided a banner in the sidebar, as well), you’ll have the possibility to buy the book you want from the page and if you do, I’ll be receiving a small percentage of it, a 5%, that obviously will be of great help for me, to be able to continue reading all these amazing books that make us so happy, to continue reviewing and talking about them with you.
I want to clarify that nobody is being forced in any way to buy the book from my links, not at all, but to do so, I repeat, would be of great help to me 😊 .

I felt the responsibility to talking to you all about this, since I don’t want to you to go into my blog one day and think that I have changed in some way or added links with another type of intension. Also since I started with the blog I valued the dialogue that I have with you and I have always been 100% honest. This blog wouldn’t be possible otherwise, so I think we’re already like a family and wanted to let you know.

I’ll respect any type of comment even if you don’t agree with this, I’ve seen that it can be quite controversial, but I want to try it anyway and see how I feel about it

Thank you so much guys, I hope you’re having a great reading month 💕

Bookish Updates: My Current Reading & Life Update [7/12/17]

Copia de Copia de Copia de Copia de SPRINGTIME (1)

This Bookish Update is something different than usual, because this will only be to keep you updated on what is happening with my life right now and I’ll also tell you where I’m with my current reading.

This week has been some intense for me, first I’ve been with a lot of work and family stuffs for which I feel that I haven’t been as focused with the blog as always, that makes me feel a little guilty, because I don’t want to disappoint you, but at the same time I know that you all are the most understanding people on the planet so I know you feel me.

On the other hand, as most of you know, this week we found out about the new conditions of NetGalley and Goodreads, which will directly affect bloggers and international authors, and this has been so disappointed and maybe sounds silly to you but really every time I tried to read, I thought about this and it made me feel sad, I can’t help it, I have a super sensitive Hufflepuff heart so this has hurt me a lot.

Anyway, I feel much better now. I’ve been thinking that although all this continues in this way we must face it in a positive way, working even harder for what we want, which is simply to be part of this community, having the same rights as anyone.
I’ve seen many silly confrontations on Twitter, something like US Bloggers VS Intl Bloggers, and I think it is absurd, there is no such thing guys, we all love the same thing and we must stay together. I personally have always found a lot of support in this community, and as an Intl Blogger, I think it is not right to put everyone in the same bag, you know?, I’ve seen alot of US bloggers talking about this problem, supporting us and expressing their love to us, so I think starting a war between us, for a subject that is only in the publishers and the pages owners hands, doesn’t make sense. From here, from my small place in the world, I’ll always prioritize the union and the support beetween us.

Moving on to my current reading, I’ve only read 1 book this week and that book is The Rose Society (The Young Elite #2) by Marie Lu, which I haven’t yet finished, but I’m loving it, it’s so incredible !, I don’t know why it took me so long to decide to read this trilogy, so far it only gets better and better, I think I’ve about 50 pages left, so I think I may be finishing it today and uploading my review tomorrow so everyone can know my thoughts about it.

I know that this is probably the most random post ever, I felt that I wanted you to know everything that was happening right now with me and how all this has made me feel overwhelmed and anxious. But I’m already feeling much better and I want to thank you as always for the support, I love you guys and I only wish you the best.
I hope that from next week everything will return to normal I have many incredible books that I want to read and I’m super excited about it !.

Don’t forget that you can add me on Twitter or Goodreads so that we can be more connected every day. I hope you have a beautiful day and see you tomorrow with a new review!

An Open Letter to Netgalley and Goodreads

For those who aren’t aware of what is happening, NetGalley, a platform used by all of us, has decided to prevent International bloggers/readers from requesting any of their titles, only “wish” for them. On the other hand Goodreads has decided, as of January, that their Giveaways stop to be internationals, they’ll only be for US residents.

Personally as an international blogger this makes me feel deeply sad, my blog has just completed its first year, I love this community is full of wonderful people and the only thing I’ve always wanted is to share my love for reading with all of you, I will never give up with this, I have a lot of fun here and it’s something that gives me great satisfaction to do, Plus: I really love you all so much, but even so, what is happening is undoubtedly unfair, we deserve something better.
From the beginning as an international you know that there’ll be alot of difficulties in the way, you know that you have to work harder to become relevant, and even then, most of us have tried it anyway, because we feel passionate about what what do we do. Right now I feel a lot of disappointment,I think our work and content is as valuable as anyone’s, we love what we do and we deserve more respect from these people.

I really would like you to read this post, Laura has done an excellent job explaining in detail what is happening.

thebookcorps

Dear Netgalley and Goodreads,

Today I discovered that your sites will no longer be providing services (or limiting services) to international readers and I am absolutely devastated.

Contrary to popular belief, America is not the only country in the world.

For those who are unaware of what is happening, Goodreads will, from January 2018, prevent authors from creating giveaways for international readers. Basically, authors will have to pay $119 for a giveaway base package, and $599 for the premium. Previously, all authors had to pay for was shipping. Read more here.

Netgalley, on the other hand, has severely limited the amount…
