🎍 Hi guys! I hope you’re having a beautiful day full of good readings.❤️ Today I bring you a new post… my February Wrap Up! where I’ll tell you ALL about my readings of the month. I think this has been a pretty good month, but it happened too fast for my taste, I usually enjoy February a lot because it’s the birthday month and everything feels very exciting, but on the other hand, it may be good a good thing that was a fast month because I’m so ready for the colder seasons to come, I’m in need of my beautiful autumn, I can’t wait! 🍂
As I said, it was my birthday on February 22 🎊, I turned 26, I have a birthday post if you want to check it out, I’m leaving it HERE. So, yeah! has been a truly beautiful month, I’ve spent time with my family and I concluded that I’ve never I felt better than right now, so I can’t complain I had a very nice day with my boyfriend and my loved ones & besides all that, I’m SO SO blessed to have each one of you in my life, I’ve never had so many comments of love and beautiful wishes on my birthday before!! 🥰 It makes me want to cry because it’s really a blessing, you made me feel so special and loved, and you don’t know how much it means to me to have you, SO SO happy to be part of this beautiful community. Thank you, guys! 😭 *feeling shy*
My month was quite good in terms of reading, you’ll see more as always in my statistics, but basically, I read a normal amount for me and I’ve had a couple of books that I’ve loved with all my heart, in general, I enjoyed almost everything I read, which is always a good thing. This year I’m undoubtedly prioritizing reading things that I think I’d like or I’m very curious about, I want to focus more on that instead of the amount I read in itself, you know? 👏🏻
I participate in the #Februwitchy I had a lot of fun and I read 2 of my favorite books of the year so far thanks to this, so super happy to have participated, I read only two books for the read-a-thon but it’s ok, I just wanted to be part, such a great idea to read about witches, which is something that I LOVE so much. 🧙♀️ Spoiler Alert! I’m in fact writing about witches in my own project, so you can imagine how passionate I am.
Then I also read a romance with a lot of hype and pick a book from my TBR Jar, which is full with your choices from my TBR LOWS & HIGHS posts, and you’ll see how it went, but I’m glad to be doing this, is a way to read books that have been in my TBR forever.
Plus, I have a couple of ARCs to talk to you about, one of them was an amazing surprise, probably a great revelation of this 2020. 😍
Super excited to talk to you about ALL these readings and share my thoughts, I feel so energized today, for some reason, I think I’m feeling the March vibes in me(? lol … Now, Sofi stops talking & Let’s START!, I hope you enjoy. 🎍

🔥 Monthly ARCs 🌲
🎍 The Unspoken Name (The Serpent Gates #1) by A.K. Larkwood | This is such an ambitious fantasy book and a huge revelation of this year. The fact that’s a debut still shock me due to its construction and complexity, but also shows a new side of the genre and gives an entirely new twist to something we already know. I’m SO happy to have been able to read an ARC, the book was released on February 11 so if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend you do it. It has a great look on diversity and also an absolutely intricate plot that makes you ask yourself a lot of questions, I think the development of the world is wonderful, super well expressed but also something difficult to understand in the beginning.
If I have to think of a way to describe it, I would say that it’s original, because that’s exactly what it gives us, both with the plot and with the construction of the world and the characters. I had some problems with the paced, but beyond that, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a high impact fantasy due to its intensity and shocking scenes. I can’t wait to know what will happen! | BOOK REVIEW |
🎍 What the Other Three Don’t Know by Spencer Hyde | I feel extremely grateful to have read this ARC because it has a very great meaning for the author who has expressed many of his own experiences in the book reflecting it in the characters. I appreciate a lot when an author is encouraged to share things as profound for himself as mental health is, so I wanted to start by highlighting this important point, as I also appreciate the beginning of the book where there’s a small note where this is explained to us.
Beyond that, and talking exclusively about the story, I end up being disappointing a bit, initially I adored the way it was told in internal monologues & SO atmospheric, I loved that, but then goes downhill as the story goes by and the characters voices were quite unreal, especially at the time of the dialogues. The transition of the chapters is quite dirty and being a book with a variety of characters and diversity I’m surprised that certain topics aren’t explored more deeply.
I think the book ended up being quite flat and the topics are touched in a superficial way, the author chooses to focus more on the relationships between them, which isn’t bad, it was simply not what I was looking for. | BOOK REVIEW |
🌘 #Februwitchy Reads 🧙♀️
🎍 The Bone Witch (The Bone Witch #1) by Rin Chupeco | OMG, THIS BOOK! I loved it so much, it was an incredible surprise, I didn’t expect it to like it as much as I did, but I ended up completely delighted with it. It’s told in such a beautiful way that it makes the whole story feel poetic and atmospheric, and that’s one of my favorite things on a book, it also has a lot of magic, of course, the characters are incredible, they all play a super important role inside of the plot. It has all the elements to be a wonderful fantasy and I can’t wait to know how it will follow after that incredible ending. The plot twists are 10/10 I enjoy them a lot, and it has that atmosphere of mystery that really resonates with me.
It makes me very happy to have given the author another chance because this time I loved her writing style like A LOT. Tea is such a versatile and incredible main character, it’s like an anti-hero queen. This book besides being highly magical and very complex in that aspect discusses the issue of the role of women in society and there is a lot of revolutionary and feminist energy that I love, as well as a lot of inclusion.
I really feel that I can’t do it justice with words, so I hope you love it if you get to read it. It deserves its recognition. | BOOK REVIEW |
🎍 Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw | Another absolutely wonderful & atmospheric story. This author never disappoints me, LOVE this book SO MUCH. It’s a story about family, about traditions, about destiny and tragedy, all that mixed with witches and magic. What I like most about this book is the mystery and all the suspense generated by reading it, it’s fantastically told and although there’s no magic as such there are many past stories about a lineage of women with wonderful skills, born to be amazing witches and all these small stories make the present story even more captivating. I must confess that I didn’t believe in the romance much, but honestly, I don’t care because it has so many rich aspects and I can say that the way in which this author expresses, resonates very much with me, it’s like she wrote it for me, you know? And I feel it.
It has one of my favorite twists, so I’m so excited for more people to read it and soon I’ll be bringing my full review to the blog, I’m excited to talk more about it.
❤️ Romance Read 💙
🎍 Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston | This isn’t usually my type of reading, so I confess that I read it cause of the hype and I’m glad I did it, it’s not the best book ever for me, but it was a lot of fun and I had a great time with it. It’s a very easy to read plot, and it conveys a lot of emotion, it has very funny scenes & dynamics between the characters that have made me laugh a lot, as well as very dramatic scenes too. Henry is the best character ever, I love him with all my heart, although I’m not so convinced about Alex, my favorite part of him as a character is his search and his self-discovery regarding his sexuality and how this is treated, I really loved it, and the impact it has on the adults in the story. The romance is quite adorable, I’m not a big fan when the romances are the central point since I usually feel a lot of cringe and this time it wasn’t the exception lol, but I do enjoy it more than usual. I really like it plays with the political aspects in a very intelligent way and although in the beginning, this is a heavy factor, it gets better and better towards the ending.
So, I really enjoyed the book, I think it’s an addictive romance to follow, super adorable and steamy, so I understand why everyone loves it so much. | BOOK REVIEW |
👠 TBR Jar Pick ⚱️
🎍 Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer | Unfortunately, guys, I decided I don’t feel that desire of finish this one, I’m not feeling it at all, and I think it’s a “me problem” more than the book itself, but I don’t find it interesting all that cyber situation it makes me feel boring. I also expected more from this book which I’m not finding and I start to feel frustrated, I don’t want to force myself to finish it if I really know that it’s going in a predictable direction in which I’m not interested. You know that sci-fi is usually a hit or miss for me, so that aspect doesn’t work for me either.
Even so, I’m happy to try it and now at least I have a brief opinion about it. I want to clarify that I understand why people love this book it shows that it’s an original idea for a story that we already know by heart, only that it didn’t work for me, and that’s super valid.
