💫 Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day! Today I bring you another part of our series, the book meme “Down the TBR Hole”which I’m doing hoping that it will help me to reduce the number of books that are in my current TBR

My plan is to upload this meme every week!. I’ll show you 10 books of which I’ll choose which one I’ll keep or get rid of. I want to make this weekly meme as interactive as possible, so I’ll be consulting a lot with you, to decide what to do. There will be those books which I’ll be interested in (Keep), those which I’ll not be interested in anymore (GO) and those which I’ll not be sure about, and with those, I’ll need your help. So please, let me know all your thoughts in the comments and I’ll be able to take my decision and let you know in the next post. 💫

I’m very happy because I’ve seen that you have participated a lot in the previous post, leaving me your comments, so I’m super excited to continue with this weekly meme.
If you’re doing the same meme right now, let me know so I can check your post out and leave my thoughts there 💖

☕️ #1 – Blackbird (Blackbird Duology #1) by Anna Carey

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Contemporary/Mystery book. This is the story about a girl who wakes up on train tracks with no memory of who she is or how she got there, the only thing she’s sure of, is that there are people looking for to kill her.
The blurb of this book is pretty vague, I still love the author’s trilogy Eve, it’s one of my favorites, is a very original dystopic trilogy, so even though this is a book that has been in my TBR for a long time, I still want to read it, especially because the author has a very easy to read writing style and I’m interested in exploring how she manages the mystery genre. Also, I would really like to have more duologies to recommend to you. 😊

 💫 KEEP 💫

☕️ #2 – Gilded Cage (Dark Gifts #1) by Vic James

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Fantasy/Dystopian book. It’s set in a modern-day Britain, where now the most powerful people are those that can control magic. If you’re not a user of magic you owe to these powerful families 10 years of your service. The families have only one thing in common: Each has three children. But their destinies entwine when one family enters the service of the other. They will all discover if any magic is more powerful than the human spirit.
First of all, I love that it takes place in a modern Britain magical era, I love that. On the other hand, is another blurb very vague, the only thing that’s certain is that there is magic involved and quite horrible jobs for those who don’t have it. I’ve been checking reviews and they’re quite good, but nothing impressive, and I honestly don’t feel that this book is giving me something new or gives me a reason to feel excited about, so I’ll let it go, I’ve stuck to it for a long time due to that beautiful cover 👋🏻

 💫 GO 💫

☕️ #3 – Queen of Hearts (Queen of Hearts Saga #1) by Colleen Oakes

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA book Fantasy/Retelling. This is an Alice in Wonderland Retelling, but with a darker turn, where we follow the Queen of Hearts. In this story, Alicia has never fallen in the rabbit hole and there’s not a cat with a mocking smile. In this world, a secret is hidden in every corner and the only ones who speak the truth are the prisoners.
Dinah is the princess who will one day reign over Wonderland, she has not yet seen the darkness of her kingdom, but one day after living a painful betrayal that destroys her heart and threatens her kingdom, Dinah must be one step ahead of her enemies or she’ll lose the crown.
The evil is brewing in Wonderland and perhaps, in a more terrifying way, in the same Dinah
OMG!!!, this book doesn’t sound like everything right in this world?. I love when the main character isn’t THAT good human being but has a more perverse side, that always catches me and I love knowing their motivations and thoughts. It has pretty average reviews of people I trust in, but still, I’m very curious to see how this story will be handled, so I’m excited to try it myself. I hope to enjoy it! *fingers crossed* 🤞🏻

 💫 KEEP 💫

☕️ #4 – The Program (The Program #1) by Suzanne Young

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Fantasy/Dystopia book. In this world, true feelings are forbidden, adolescent suicide is an epidemic and the only solution is the Program.
Sloane knows that she can’t show her true feelings in front of other people or she could be sent to The Program. Sloane’s parents have already lost a child so she knows that they’ll watch her in order not to lose her too, but Sloane knows that the people who return from the Program not only lose their depression but also their memory. The only person with whom Sloane can be herself is James. He has promised to keep them safe and out of treatment, but despite the promises they made to each other, it’s increasingly difficult to hide the truth. Both are becoming weaker. Depression is being established. And the program comes for them.
This book obviously touches on a very sensitive issue such as depression and it seems like it takes a large part of the book since the students are suffering from a kind of “epidemic” of suicides due to this. This theme somehow makes me feel insecure about reading the book or not because I don’t know how it will be touched, but on the other hand, it sounds pretty interesting and has very good reviews. Maybe I try a couple of chapters before making my final decision, to see how I feel about this world. I hope the message ends up being positive 🙏🏻

 💫 KEEP 💫

☕️ #5 – Heart of Iron (Heart of Iron #1) by Ashley Poston

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Fantasy/Sci-Fi book. Ana is a rebel, out of the law by nature, she was found when she was a girl adrift in space with an intelligent android called D09, Ana was saved by a fearsome space captain and the gray-haired crew she now calls family. But D09, one of the last remaining Illegal Metals, has been failing, and Ana won’t stop till finding a way to fix it. But at the last moment, a spoiled child of Ironblood beats Ana for her prize. He has his own reasons for taking the coordinates, and he doesn’t care what he’ll sacrifice to keep them.
When everything goes wrong, she and the Ironblood end up as fugitives in the race. Now their whole kingdom is behind them, -and their coordinates- and not everyone wants them to be captured alive. But when darkness returns from Anna’s past, she must face an impossible choice: does she protect a kingdom that wants her dead or save the Metal boy she loves?
Honestly I’m not interested in this book anymore, I added it as soon as I heard about it because I LOVE Geekerella, so I was excited to read something more by the author, but today I think I’m more interested in continuing to read her contemporary work, especially since it seems to be pretty heavy on Sci-Fi and you know that’s not usually my thing, so I have to be selective with the genre, and this time I’ll let it go. Although the cover is BEAUTIFUL, really  👋🏻

☕️ #6 – More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Contemporary (Featuring LGBT+ Characters). Sixteen-year-old Aaron Soto is struggling to find happiness after a family tragedy leaves him reeling. He’s slowly remembering what happiness might feel like this summer with the support of his girlfriend Genevieve, but it’s his new best friend, Thomas, who really gets Aaron to open up about his past and confront his future. As Thomas and Aaron get closer, Aaron discovers things about himself that threaten to shatter his newfound contentment.
I’ll be, of course, reading more of Adam Silvera’s work, I read two of his books and I really liked them, so I’m excited to read this one since it’s one of his most acclaimed works. I really enjoyed the way he manages his stories, always so honest and pure, I really like that, besides his characters feel very real to me.

 💫 KEEP 💫

☕️ #7 – My Lady Jane (The Lady Janies #1) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Historical-Fiction/Retelling/Fantasy book. Edward (long live the king) is the King of England. He’s also dying, which is inconvenient, as he’s only sixteen. Jane (reads too many books) is Edward’s cousin, and far more interested in books than romance. Unfortunately for Jane, Edward has arranged to marry her off to secure the line of succession. Gifford (call him G) is a horse. That is, he’s an Eðian (eth-y-un, for the uninitiated). Every day at dawn I become a noble chestnut steed-but then he wakes at dusk with a mouthful of hay.
The plot thickens as Edward, Jane, and G are drawn into a dangerous conspiracy. With the fate of the kingdom at stake, our heroes will have to engage in some conspiring of their own. But can they pull off their plan before it’s off with their heads?
This book has SO MUCH HYPE and even though is already a while since its release date people still recommend to me, which is great that means that many people love it. Still, and scared that some of you hate me for this, but I don’t find myself interested in this book, I think I added it because of the number of people who were reading it and talking about it, but I never felt 100% sure about. I know it’s funny and sure a lot of you have read it and loved it, but I’ll pass, since it has nothing that really calls my attention 👋🏻

☕️ #8 – Legendary (Caraval #2) by Stephanie Garber

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Fantasy book. Obviously I can’t say much about it because it’s the sequel to Caraval, but obviously, I’m very interested to read it, but first I want to re-read the first book so all the thoughts will be clearer in my mind. This world is sensational, super catchy, kind of dark and very magical. I recommend it a lot, and I’ve been seeing the best reviews about this one and about Finale. I’m so excited, I can’t wait! 😍

 💫 KEEP 💫

☕️ #9 – Vendetta (Blood for Blood #1) by Catherine Doyle

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Contemporary/Romance book. When five brothers move to the abandoned mansion in their neighborhood, Sophie Gracewell’s life changes forever. Irresistibly attracted to the bad boy Nicoli, Sophie finds herself falling into a criminal underworld ruled by powerful families. As the dark secrets of the children begin to come to light, Sophie also faces sharp truths about her own family. She must choose between two dynasties at war, in which she was born and which she is falling in love with. When it does, the blood will spill and the hearts will break.
I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this trilogy, I’ve heard it’s super addictive and the romance sounds incredible, so I’m really interested in reading it. There were several opportunities in which I almost read it but other readings have always won, even so, I hope to read it soon. If you have read it, you have to tell me what you think about it! 😄

 💫 KEEP 💫

☕️ #10 – Avery (The Chronicles of Kaya #1) Charlotte McConaghy

|| Goodreads ||

This is a YA Fantasy/Romance book. The people of Kaya die in pairs. When one lover dies, the other does too. So it has been for thousands of years – until Ava. For her bondmate, Avery, has been murdered and Ava’s soul has been torn in two, she is the only one who has ever been strong enough to cling to life. Vowing revenge upon the barbarian queen of Pirenti, Ava’s plan is interrupted when she is captured by the deadly prince of her enemies.
Prince Ambrose has been brought up to kill and hate. But when he takes charge of a strangely captivating Kayan prisoner and is forced to survive with her on a dangerous island, I must reconsider all he holds true. . .
I LOVE the promise, I think the idea of people dying in pairs is very original, so I’m very excited to read it and see how this world works, I see that there will be romance, but that doesn’t bother me, there’s something in this book that really calls my attention, doesn’t have Incredible reviews, but I still WANT TO READ IT! 👏🏻

  1. Ahh, you’re keeping some great books, yay! I’ve read The Program a while ago, but I remember really enjoying it. I also had such a fun time reading Vendetta, it was such an entertaining read. Can’t wait to hear what you think of these 🙂

    • I’m so glad you enjoyed both! I haven’t heard much about The Program, but I’ve heard a lot about Vendetta, it seems to be a super addictive series, so I hope to read it when I feel like a bit of romance 😄
      I hope you’re having an INCREDIBLE month, honey ❤️

  2. I ended up really disliking Gilded Cage, so I can’t fault you for letting it go XD And I feel the same way about Heart of Iron, I have a copy on my Kindle, but my interest in it just keeps going down the longer it sits there >.< I'll get to it… eventually lol

    • I know, right? sometimes it happens that you have a book for so long that you just lose interest. I hope that if you read Heart of Iron you end up enjoying it, you have to let me know your thoughts about that one 💕

  3. Gilded Cage is such an amazing book! I only have the third book in this trilogy left to read. I hope you’ll change your mind on this one. It’s the most epic politic intrigue in a fantasy world I’ve ever read. ❤

    • OMG, you just made it sound SO GOOD 😍, now I feel doubtful lol. I know what I’ll do, I’m planning a round of “try a chapter” soon and I’ve picked several titles already, so I’ll put that one on the stack and give it a try! 😊💕

  4. I loved The Gilded Cage series – fantastic world-building, and some memorable characters. I haven’t read My Lady Jane, but friends in my book club highly recommended it – they loved the humor.

    • I’ve decided to try a chapter of Gilded Cage, because you’re not the first one who tells me it’s amazing, so now I’m very curious 😍👏🏻. Oh I know everyone loves My Lady Jane, I guess I’m more of sad books than humor books 😊❤️
