Hi loves!, I hope you’re having a great start to the week, I know it’s hard to start after the weekend, so from here, I send THE BEST ENERGIES 🌻 to you!. Today I bring you the weekly meme “It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?”, which I love since it allows us to keep up of our recent and future readings, so without further ado let’s start!!
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
🌿 What I Read Last Week 🌿
The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
|| Goodreads ||
I finished with my re-reading of this wonderful trilogy, which I love and honestly didn’t think I would read it so fast, but I flew through it, it was a very positive experience. I have also managed to reconnect with the characters in a much deeper way than the first time, the same thing happened to me with the world, which I think is one of the best I’ve read about, the immensity, development, and complexity of the world building is WONDERFUL.
In short, it’s an INCREDIBLE trilogy, full of magic, unforgettable characters and epic moments
I don’t want to bore you again telling you how much I love this trilogy but if you’re interested in knowing more about my re-reading and my new thoughts about it, I’ll leave HERE the link to that post
🌿 What I’m Reading At Present 🌿
Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo
Welcome to the world of the Grisha.
Kaz Brekker and his crew of deadly outcasts have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn’t think they’d survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they’re right back to fighting for their lives.
Double-crossed and badly weakened, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz’s cunning and test the team’s fragile loyalties.
A war will be waged on the city’s dark and twisting streets – a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of the Grisha world.

I’m almost a little over halfway through the book and I hope I’m done with it by the time this post is published *fingers crossed*.
I knew that this book would be slow at first because Six of Crows was slow at the beginning too, so I kind of predicted it. But guys, this book is too slow, I love the plot and I love the characters and I’m really enjoying myself right now knowing a lot more about each personal stories and see the dynamic between the guys, that’s much more personal and friendly, I’m loving it, but it was hard to me to get a 100% committed to the plot, I think it got really good passing the 250 pages, and now, at last, I can say that I really want to continue reading it. I can’t pretend that the first 200 pages didn’t happen, though, I think it’s very heavy and repetitive at times, and in a moment I was afraid and I thought I couldn’t read it, but right now I’m enjoying it a lot, so I’m already more positive about it. I hope to finish enjoying it as much as everyone has done
I’m loving Nina and Inej in this book, why are they so wonderful?!
🌿 Up Next 🌿
King of Scars (Nikolai Duology #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Nikolai Lantsov has always had a gift for the impossible. No one knows what he endured in his country’s bloody civil war—and he intends to keep it that way. Now, as enemies gather at his weakened borders, the young king must find a way to refill Ravka’s coffers, forge new alliances, and stop a rising threat to the once-great Grisha Army.
Yet with every day a dark magic within him grows stronger, threatening to destroy all he has built. With the help of a young monk and a legendary Grisha Squaller, Nikolai will journey to the places in Ravka where the deepest magic survives to vanquish the terrible legacy inside him. He will risk everything to save his country and himself. But some secrets aren’t meant to stay buried—and some wounds aren’t meant to heal.

To be completely honest, I don’t know if I can finish this one this month, but I want to try, even if I can’t include it in my Wrap Up, I hope to do it in the next month so don’t worry. I don’t know when it will be, but I’ll read this book and upload my review, it needs to happen now that I have all the fresh stories in my mind so I’ll not feel like I’m missing any details, you know? reading about Nikolai makes me feel so excited, I love him so much

Great post! I still need to read the Grishaverse. I’m so behind on that. I’m currently reading Love Punked by Nia Lucas. Up next will be something on my NetGalley queue lol.

The Grishaverse books are some if my favorites! I’m hoping to pick up King of Scars for the first time from the library next month. Currently (still) reading The 7.5 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, but I’m hoping to finish that today or tomorrow and move on to The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

I haven’t read the Grishaverse books just yet, but I’ve heard they’re not as great as the Six of Crows duology, so I am a little nervous about them haha. I’m glad you loved the series! 🙂

Oh wow you read so much last week! You’re really down the Leigh Bardugo hole, aren’t you? 😂 I have heard so many amazing things about her books, but I never picked any of them up. I even unhauled them in my Down the TBR series but now……..I think I’ll have to reconsider! Happy readings, Soffi!

Totally!, I’ve even had dreams with Six of Crow, I’m not ok 😂
Well, I understand that if you didn’t feel that you were going to read it or you lost interest, you had to get rid of them, but my heart tells me that I have to recommend that you give it a try someday. The main trilogy is absolutely addictive and it reads super easy 😊
I hope you’re having an incredible month, sweetie 💕

I thought I was going to struggle a lot more with Crooked Kingdom than I actually have. I almost didn’t finish Six of Crows, but I got through it… barely. Crooked Kingdom has been easier for me because I know the writing style now and I’m fond of the characters. But, yeah, it’s slow in places.

I’m so glad we have similar experiences, I think a lot of people found it slow so I know we’re not alone in that. Even so, I finished it and I enjoyed it! My review will be up tomorrow 😊
