💫🌼 Hi guys, I hope you’re having a beautiful day. Today I bring you something new for me, I’ve been seeing that most of the incredible book bloggers that I follow, sharing their goals or their plans for next year, and the truth is, that I’ve never done one of these before, whenever I’ve had objectives I’ve kept them in my mind, but I think it could be an incentive and even a good reminder of some things that I plan to do, have them actually written on the blog. I’m also excited to share them with you and know some of your personal goals!. So, withouth more further ado, let’s start! 🌼💫
💫 Read 60 Books
I want to read a minimum of 60 books next year, this year my Goodreads Callenge was to read 50 books and in fact, I’ve read 12 more than that, so I feel confident enough to try to read more. 60 is a number which I feel super comfortable with and I prefer that, insted of feeling stressed about it
💫 Participate in more Read-A-Thons
I’ve tried some this year, and even when I’ve failed a little bit lol, I’ve spent a very fun time trying it and I think it gives a different and entertaining touch to reading. I think I could choose some that I feel more comfortable with, maybe an annual one or something like that. I already have some in which I’ll participate for sure, but I’m still creating a list of read-a-thons that I don’t want to miss next year. So if you have one that you recommend, I’d love to know in the comments
💫 Prioritize my ARCs
We all know that receiving ARCs, although it’s something extraordinary and we love it, can sometimes go out of control. What I plan and I would like to, is to read especially my ARCs before the new releases or other kind of books, and in this way have more ordered my schedule and everything is less hurried, you know?. I would like to read them maybe 2 months in advance, but everything will depend on when I recive them, but without doubt, I want to focus more on the ARCs, since I feel so grateful to receive them.
💫 Read more Adult Books
Well, this already speaks for itself, I think I would like to expand my reading to other books in the Adult gender, I still enjoy and I will always read YA, but anyway I want to start to get into books with adult characters, I feel it will be interesting
💫 Start more Series
I know this sounds a little weird but I’m always afraid when it comes to starting new series, and I feel it’s a silly fear that I have to overcome and start these series that I’ve wanted to read for a long time. If I like the first book, I know that I’ll coninue it and probably finish it, I don’t have a lot of unfinished series that I really want to read, so it’s something I could do
💫 Post on the blog 3 times a week
This is something that I’ve already done throughout the year, but I still want to write it as an objective for next year as well. I feel very comfortable with posting 3 times a week but if I can do it sometimes 4 times, I think I will do it
💫 Be more Active in Social Networks
I have a serious problem when it comes to remembering my social networks, I’m in fact, zero dependent on them, so I started using Twitter, primarily for the blog, and it was very difficult!. Recently I’m feeling more committed to Twitter so I hope to continue like this. I have also met beautiful people from the bookish community there and that makes me happy
💫 Start a Bookish Journal
In fact, this I’m doing it. I’m adding things to my Bookish Journal, I’ll dedicate it entirely to my readings and blog posts, maybe one day I’ll show you. Honestly, I’m a bit embarrassed because my handwriting is awful LOL. But well it’s my first Journal, so I don’t want to put a lot of presure on me. I’m experimenting with ways to create lists and that kind of thing, and I’ll find a way to feel more comfortable with it. So far, I’m having fun so I think it will be something positive in my life
💫 Start Writing
This is something that terrifies me, but I think the time has come. A long time ago that I have an idea cooking in my mind and I’ve never dared to even try to write something, I think that, to be honest, I don’t think I’m able to put my ideas in a written form, you know?. But I also think that if I never try it, I will never know that. Even if I’m not going to write a whole book, I think that taking my ideas out of my mind and starting to create a story could be fun, and even though it scares me, I really want to do it. If you have some advice for me, PLEASE let me know in the comments, because I’ll need all the information I can get
Best of luck with all of these! 🙂

I am so glad you decided to keep a journal. I have been journalling ever since I was 6 and honestly, it helps me organise my thoughts and my life altogether. I have a separate one for lists, for every-day tasks, for book blogging and so many more haha. I really hope you enjoy the experience!
Good Luck for 2019!!

I love knowing other experiences, and I’m so happy that yours is so positive, I feel it will be something interesting to try, so far I’m having fun setting it up, it’s not perfect but I think that’s how I’ll learn, right? Thank you SO much for your good wishes and I hope you have an incredible 2019 honey! 💕💕

Ofcourseee! The best thing about journaling is that you own it totally! You have the power to design it, mould it and just do whatever fits you!
Thankyou so much, same to you❤️

Best of luck doing your resolutions! I’m also with you on the read-more-adult-books one, and that’s also something I’m doing this year! I just wrote a post about my most anticipated releases for 2019 and most of the books there are adult, if you want some suggestions!

Good luck with all your goals. Prioritizing arcs is a good one, I’m getting more and more of them and it can become a bit overwhelming.

Best of luck with all of your goals. Also, no need to be embarrassed by your reading journal. The more you use it the better your handwriting gets, plus yours is probably better than mine. lol.

Writing is definitely one of my goals as well. I’ve always done it. I even finished two novels in 2017 but this year was the first that was a disaster so that’s probably my top goal to be honest. Get back to that! Good luck to you with yours!

I want to start bookish journal too, I hope it will make my reading more organized and help me while writing reviews. One of my goal next year is finish at least 3 series, and cut down on arcs and prioritize backlist books 🙂

I absolutely love this! I am now inspired to branch out of my normal comfort zone with the books I choose meaning I want to read books that are not only YA fantasy. My main goal is to be more consistent with posting.

[…] to your goals and to stay on track when you’ve got your flow down. That’s what Sofii of A Book. A Thought is doing. I like this because you don’t really have to come up with new goals or resolutions […]

My goal is to write more this year as well. What is an ARC?

That’s great! I hope you have good luck with your goal.
An ARC, is an abbreviation for: Advance Reader Copy, is a free copy of a new book given by a publisher to a bookblogger, a librarian or booktuber, before its release date, in exchange for an honest review of it 😊

Perhaps shoot for a short story first. I am writing a book of short stories now. I get so tired with my characters and story line so quickly that short stories seem to be most natural for me. Good Luck!!
