šø Hi babes! I hope youāre having a great day. Today I bring you my TBR of the month of October, where I tell you about the readings that Iāve planned for this month. As you know, the previous month, although I enjoyed the ones I read, it wasn’t my best reading month, so I’m excited for this month, because I want to read it ALL. I’m definitely in the mood to read a lot, in fact, ALREADY FINISH MY FIRST BOOK OF THE MONTH!, yes, I know, who am I, right ?. But still, I do not want to exaggerate with this because, you know, I can fail again and that would be humiliating lol. What I’ll be doing this month is simply read what I can, I will not pushing myself that much, but since I feel very eager to read and have had this successful start, I’ve prepared a great list of which I’m very excited, and I can’t wait to show you.
I have 8 books in my TBR for this month: I have a couple of ARCs, some New Releases, I’ll be Finishing a series, a Re-reading and a Short Novel. I’m super excited to tell you what I’ll be reading, but first I wanted to mention that some of the books that will be in this TBR are the same ones that have been in the previous one but I could’t read them, so I wanted to add them here. Now, without further ado, let’s START!šø
ARCs of the Month
Our Bloody Pearl (These Treacherous Tides #1) by D.N. Bry
The ocean is uncontrollable and dangerous. But to the sirens who swim the warm island waters, itās a home more than worth protecting from the humans and their steam-propelled ships. Between their hypnotic voices and the strength of their powerful tails, sirens have little to fear.
That is, until the ruthless pirate captain, Kian, creates a device to cancel out their songs.
Perle was the first siren captured, and while all since have either been sold or killed, Kian still keeps them prisoner. Though their song is muted and their tail paralyzed, Perleās hope for escape rekindles as another pirating vessel seizes Kianās ship. This new captain seems different, with his brilliant smile and his promises that Kian will never again be Perleās master. But heās still a human, and a captor in his own way. The compassion he and his rag-tag human family show canāt be sincere⦠or can it?
Soon it becomes clear that Kian will hunt Perle relentlessly, taking down any siren in her path. As the tides turn, Perle must decide whether to run from Kian forever, or ride the forming wave into battle, hoping their newfound human companions will fight with them.
As I said in my previous TBR, I really want to read this book, first, because it sounds amazing and I love the promise of diversity within a pirate story and second, because the author has been so kind to send me a copy to review, and that means the world for me, so surely I’ll be reading and reviewing it this month, I’m excited!
The Darkest Star (Origin #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
When seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen…but he is in fact something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she’d only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head…
#1 New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout returns to the universe of the Lux in this brand new series, featuring beloved characters both new and old.
It’s an honor for me to have this ARC, because I honestly adore Jennifer and as many of you, she has also marked a stage in my life with her books, so I’m excited to read it. Sadly I couldn’t read it before its publication date but, well, I’ll be doing it now. I know that this new story takes place within the same Lux universe, and I remember loving that saga, so I’m very excited to read it
The Rule of One (The Rule of One #1) by Ashley Saunders & Leslie Saunders
In their world, telling the truth has become the most dangerous crime of all.
In the near-future United States, a one-child policy is ruthlessly enforced. Everyone follows the Rule of One. But Ava Goodwin, daughter of the head of the Texas Family Planning Division, has a secretāone her mother died to keep and her father has helped to hide for her entire life.
She has an identical twin sister, Mira.
For eighteen years Ava and Mira have lived as one, trading places day after day, maintaining an interchangeable existence down to the most telling detail. But when their charade is exposed, their worst nightmare begins. Now they must leave behind the father they love and fight for their lives.
Branded as traitors, hunted as fugitives, and pushed to discover just how far theyāll go in order to stay alive, Ava and Mira rush headlong into a terrifying unknown.
This book sounds great, it promises a dystopic future where it is not allowed to have more than one child but Ava Goodwin has a secret and is that he has a twin sister called Mira and when their secret is discovered they must leave everything they know to fight for their lives. And here’s the cool thing about it: this is not only a science fiction book about twin sisters, but it’s also written by twin sisters, which I found so interesting and I loved it, I can’t wait to read it
Re-reading
In The Afterlight (The Darkest Minds #3) by Alexandra Bracken
Ruby canāt look back. Fractured by an unbearable loss, she and the kids who survived the governmentās attack on Los Angeles travel north to regroup. With them is a prisoner: Clancy Gray, son of the president, and one of the few people Ruby has encountered with abilities like hers. Only Ruby has any power over him, and just one slip could lead to Clancy wreaking havoc on their minds.
They are armed only with a volatile secret: proof of a government conspiracy to cover up the real cause of IAAN, the disease that has killed most of Americaās children and left Ruby and others like her with powers the government will kill to keep contained. But internal strife may destroy their only chance to free the ārehabilitation campsā housing thousands of other Psi kids.
Meanwhile, reunited with Liam, the boy she would-and did-sacrifice everything for to keep alive, Ruby must face the painful repercussions of having tampered with his memories of her. She turns to Cole, his older brother, to provide the intense training she knows she will need to take down Gray and the government. But Cole has demons of his own, and one fatal mistake may be the spark that sets the world on fire.
Again another of the books I should have reading in the previous month but I didn’t, so this month will finally happen, I’m about to start reading it, I really want to because I LOVE this trilogy, now quartet, so I don’t have much to say, simply so happy with this re-reading that is making me feel a lot of things
Finishing this GREAT Series
Immortal Reign (Falling Kingdoms #6) by Morgan Rhodes
As two lethal elemental gods set out to destroy Mytica, sworn enemies must become allies in the final fight to save the kingdoms.
Jonas continues to willfully defy his destiny, but the consequences of plotting his own course are drastic. As the fight for Mytica rages on, he must decide just how much more he’s willing to sacrifice.
Lucia knows there’s something special about her daughter and she’ll do anything to protect her, even if that means facing Kyan alone.
Amara is called back home to Kraeshia. Grandma Cortas has her own plans for Mytica’s future. She promises Amara power, revenge, and dominance if she agrees to be part of her scheme.
Magnus and Cleo‘s love will be put to the ultimate test. Dark magic is causing widespread destruction throughout the kingdom. Enemies across the sea are advancing. And unrest is stirring throughout the land. Is their love strong enough to withstand the outside forces tearing them apart?
If I say I’m ready for this to end, I’d be lying. I love this series, has a special place in my heart, the characters are sensational so I know I will miss them. But I guess it’s time, I’m also excited to know what will happen, I hope the book ends up being true to itself with a great battle, deaths and lots of magic everywhere, so I can’t wait
2108 New Releases
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White
Elizabeth Lavenza hasn’t had a proper meal in weeks. Her thin arms are covered with bruises from her “caregiver,” and she is on the verge of being thrown into the streets . . . until she is brought to the home of Victor Frankenstein, an unsmiling, solitary boy who has everything–except a friend.
Victor is her escape from misery. Elizabeth does everything she can to make herself indispensable–and it works. She is taken in by the Frankenstein family and rewarded with a warm bed, delicious food, and dresses of the finest silk. Soon she and Victor are inseparable.
But her new life comes at a price. As the years pass, Elizabeth’s survival depends on managing Victor’s dangerous temper and entertaining his every whim, no matter how depraved. Behind her blue eyes and sweet smile lies the calculating heart of a girl determined to stay alive no matter the cost . . . as the world she knows is consumed by darkness.
In fact, I ALREADY FINISH THIS BOOK!, is my first book of this month and OMG, I’m just going to say it was INCREDIBLE and I LOVED IT!, I’ll be uploading my full review next week, but it was fantastic, much more than what I expected
The Lost Sisters (The Folk of the Air #1.5) by Holly Black
Sometimes the difference between a love story and a horror story is where the ending comes . . .
While Jude fought for power in the Court of Elfhame against the cruel Prince Cardan, her sister Taryn began to fall in love with the trickster, Locke.
Half-apology and half-explanation, it turns out that Taryn has some secrets of her own to reveal.
The Lost Sisters is a companion e-novella to the New York Times bestselling novel The Cruel Prince by master writer Holly Black.
Well, I’ve been seeing this e-novel everywhere lately and I’m intrigued, I’m dying for a little more of this world so even though I HATE Taryn, I’m excited to read it

A must-have for fans of Mackenzi Leeās extraordinary and Stonewall Honor-winning novel.
A year after an accidentally whirlwind grand tour with her brother Monty, Felicity Montague has returned to England with two goals in mindāavoid the marriage proposal of a lovestruck suitor from Edinburgh and enroll in medical school. I am also super nervous to be finishing the Falling Kingdoms series (eeek!) but can’t wait to pick it up š I just read The Lost Sisters recently and have to say it fell a bit short of my expectations, but maybe it was because I was counting on it to redeem my experience with The Cruel Prince… I think it’s brilliant to shed some light on some of the things that happened on the first book!
