☕️I’ve been looking for something new and fun to bring to the blog and I’ve seen this challenge everywhere so it really catches my attention, and I’m more than happy and excited to start with this “ABC book challenge”.
I’ll be uploading a post every week sharing with you my most memorable titles and the books that are still on my TBR, corresponding to each letter of the alphabet, this time with the letter “D“.
I don’t know who is the original creator of this challenge, so if you know, please let me know in the comments. Personally I’ve seen this challenge/tag in the blogs of Tiana (The Book Raven) and Jacquie (Rattle the Stars), both are adorable people and their blogs are amazing so, please, check them, you’ll not regret it
I really hope you enjoy this post series a lot, it’s long so I hope to do my best and my goal with it is that we can all share our thoughts about the books that I’ll show you and as always, have a lot of fun.
Without more further ado, let’s start!☕️
Previous Letters
Memorable Titles That Start With “D”
I hope this is not cheating, but I’ll be including those books that start with “The”, having as reference the first letter of the next word
☕️ Destroy Me (Shatter Me #1.5) by Tahereh Mafi : This is in fact a short novel about Warner, who in addition to being my babe(? lol, is one of the main characters of the Shatter Me saga. I know that many of you must have already read this saga but I explain it in case someone hasn’t yet and for those people, I tell you, you need to do it, Shatter Me started being a trilogy, and it has always been one of my favorites, now it will be a saga and I can’t be happier to read again about this story.
It’s really very addictive and full of drama, It’s about a girl who can’t have direct contact with anyone without killing them, and the whole story takes place in a destroyed/apocalyptic world where people literally starve, involves people with powers
(topic which I always LOVE), and quite romance, it also grows a lot with each book which is great, I really recommend it (MY Shatter Me Review/Spoilers Free)
☕️ Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout : If you want to read something written by JLA and you don’t know what to choose first, well this book is a great choice to start. This book is one of my favorite ever and has been on that list for years, I can’t help but recommend it, I think my love for Mystery/Thrillers books started here. Jennifer’s writing style is exquisite, I think she’s one of the best writers I’ve had the pleasure of reading, in this book in particular you’ll appreciate that, it’s very addictive. From the beginning has the power to keep you wanting more, the plot is so intriguing and full of twists, is SO good. And although it contains romance, it is not heavy at all, I think it focuses mainly on family dynamics and the secrets that these are willing to keep. I recommend it a lot if you want to enjoy a reading that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish
☕️ The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds #1) by Alexandra Bracken : If you like X-Men and the dystopian stories, you have to read this book. I LOVE this trilogy, obviously lol, I had the pleasure of re-reading it last month and it made me so happy!, I could read it and read it and never get tired of. The story follows kids with superpowers, which is always something that I love. In this case everything happens after an illness falls on all the children of the world and while most of them don’t survive it, those who did, develop supernatural abilities. This, of course, generates a big concern in the people so the government decides to lock up all these kids in institutions where they believe they’ll be cured and could be inserted back into society, but obviously there is much more than that.
My favorite thing about these books, are the characters, they’re so diverse and incredible and I can’t help but love them, they’re so brave and their growth during all the books is extraordinary, contains a lot of action and adventure as well. Can I recommend it more? NO
Finally I saw the movie!, and although I think they always tend to make the films very childish, I don’t think it’s bad in fact I enjoyed it and I think it’s quite faithful to the book. It is not the best movie ever but it was good
☕️ Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by Laini Taylor : This is absolutely one of the best books/trilogy I’ve read in my life!. I love Laini Taylor, her writing style is magical.
This book is incredible I think that of everything I’ve read in the fantasy/paranormal genre is one of the best, the story is captivating and everything happens both in different world, The Fantastical world and in Prague, and the atmosphere you feel while you reading it, is pure GOLD. The plot is so original and you can never see the plot twist coming, it’s surprising. Karu and Akiva make the most beautiful and incredible couple I’ve read about, I love them so much.
And although it’s a book focused on fantasy, it also touches on issues such as who your real family is and what you would be able to do for them. When I think of this book I think of a story similar to Romeo and Juliet but in the fantasy genre, and I think that’s it that and much more. I really can’t recommend it more, I know you’ll love it. THE ENDING IS SO GOOD!!!!, one of the best I’ve read (MY REVIEW)

I went to see Darkest Minds a couple of weeks ago and I did enjoy it but I will admit I haven’t read the book. As for your tbr, I absolutely love the Darkest Part of the Forest, Holly Black is excellent at faerie stories so I hope you enjoy it.

Well I personally think that the book is a thousand times better although the movie is good, it’s as always happens I guess, nothing will be as good as the book 😊
I’m super excited for The Darkest Part of the Forest, I feel it sounds like something I’ll enjoy 😄

And Jennifer L. Armentrout. OMG she is amazing. I read her YA novel Lux series first, and that was it. It has been 2 years and i am still into that book yearning for more of Daemon Black. She has a strong hold on me because after lux series I read only her books!! ❤

OMG I also read the Lux series and I remember that I was obsessed with it 😅 , it was so long ago but I still have a lot of love for it, I think because it was one of the first series I ever read. Definitely JLA is an incredible author, I’ve been lucky to be approved with an arc of her new book The Darkest Star and I can’t wait to read it 😍

I’ve seen this challenge going around the blogosphere for a while now and I find it quite cool! It’s interesting to see what books people have read and what books they’re interested in as well 🙂
I particularly can’t wait to try The Darkest Minds and the Shatter Me series, as well as finish the DSOM trilogy! Glad to see DOSAB here as well – it’s also one of my favourites of all time ❤

Daughter of Smoke and Bone is so amazing, right? I love it so much!! Also, I hope you really love The Darkest Part of the Forest, it’s a fantastic standalone novel (and the characters are in The Cruel Prince too!).
PS: It’s totally not cheating to use books with ‘The’ at the start! ‘The’ and ‘A’ don’t actually count!! x

I’m so glad you like DoSaB, sometimes I think more people should give it credit, IT’S SO INCREDIBLE 😍. I had no idea that the TDPotF characters appeared in The Cruel Prince!, that’s so cool 😄
