đ¸Â Hi babes! I hope youâre having a great day. Today I bring you my TBR of the month of August, where I tell you about the readings that Iâve planned for this month. I think I’ve done a very good job with my reading last month, I didn’t read just 1 of the books that were in my TBR so I think it was pretty great. On the other hand, I would have liked to read a little more, since I feel that although I had time I was lacked a little motivation, sometimes happens I guess, so this month I’m very excited to start reading and I think my goal is to read at least 6 books, but we’ll see how it goes with that.
I’ve created my list for this month with enough anticipation, cause I already knew, more or less, the books that I want to read, I also have an ARC that I really excited about and I’ve decided to include a re-reading, that I’m doing right now, and a book that I’ve chosen from my TBR Jar.
I know you’ll be very happy when you see a couple of books here, because they’re a couple that I’ve been wanting to read since they came out and finally I’ll be doing it.đ¸
I just want to put this here as a reminder: You don’t have to force yourself to finish reading a book if you just don’t feel like doing it. Reading is supposed to be fun and like a person who used to feel guilty to DNF books, I feel like you have to remember why we started reading in the first place, to be happy, not to feel bad about it đÂ
Lately I’ve been super interested in Read-A-Thons and Book Challenge because I wanted to try some, but honestly I have no idea where to start or where to look for, so if you have any advice about it or if you know any page where I could get information I would appreciate a lot you guys đÂ
As always I talk too much lol, so without further ado let’s start!…đÂ
ARC of the Month
Keeper of the Bees (Black Birds of the Gallows #2) by Meg Kassel
KEEPER OF THE BEES is a tale of two teens who are both beautiful and beastly, and whose pasts are entangled in surprising and heartbreaking ways.
Dresden is cursed. His chest houses a hive of bees that he canât stop from stinging people with psychosis-inducing venom. His face is a shifting montage of all the people who have died because of those stings. And he has been this way for centuriesâsince he was eighteen and magic flowed through his homeland, corrupting its people.
He follows harbingers of death, so at least his curse only affects those about to die anyway. But when he arrives in a Midwest town marked for death, he encounters Essie, a seventeen-year-old girl who suffers from debilitating delusions and hallucinations. His bees want to sting her on sight. But Essie doesnât see a monster when she looks at Dresden.
Essie is fascinated and delighted by his changing features. Risking his own life, he holds back his bees and spares her. What starts out as a simple act of mercy ends up unraveling Dresdenâs solitary life and Essieâs tormented one. Their impossible romance might even be powerful enough to unravel a centuries-old curse.
As you know, I’ve really spend an incredible time reading Black Bird of the Gallows, which is the first book or the companion to this one. I think the general concept of these books is super original for a paranormal/fantasy, and I can’t wait to jump again into this world, also in this occasion following the story of a Beekeeper so super excited to see the direction it will take
Series that I want to Continue…
Crystal Storm (Falling Kingdoms #5) by Morgan Rhodes
The ruthless Empress Amara of Kraeshia has taken the Mytican throne, and now uncertainty looms over the three kingdoms. Since Lucia unleashed the fire Kindred, wreaking havoc throughout the land, Myticans have been looking for someoneâanyoneâthey can trust. They believe in Amara, not knowing her grand promises are built on lies.
In Paelsia, Magnus and Cleo reluctantly follow King Gaius to the home of his exiled mother, Selia. Selia is a powerful witch and claims she can help unlock the magic of the Kindredâif the visitors agree to her terms. When Jonas arrives from Kraeshia, he is shocked to find that his rebel army now includes his sworn enemies. Along with Nic, Felix, and the mysteriously resurrected Ashur, the contentious group agrees to cast aside old grudgesâfor nowâand united against their common enemy: Amara.
Meanwhile, bearing the child of a Watcher and feared by all, Princess Lucia travels across Mytica to find her family. But time is running out. The impending storm signals the dark prophecy Timotheus warned her about. Her fate is written, and it includes none other than the rebel Jonas. When their paths collied, Jonas and Lucia must decide between blindly following their destiny or fighting for their own free will.
The battle for power culminates at the Paelsian palace, where Amara resides. Rain pours. Blood spills. And soon all will discover that the darkest magic comes at an even darker price.
Honestly I haven’t even read the synopsis of this one, I want to jump directly into this magnificent world knowing nothing, I want to be surprised and knowing well the way in which Morgan writes and creates her stories, I know I’ll be more than surprised. I can’t wait. Plus, I LOVE the cover and the title of the book, so good.
Dream On (Silber #2) by Kerstin Gier
Things seem to be going well for Liv Silver: sheâs adjusting to her new home in London; she has a burgeoning romance with Henry Harper, one of the cutest boys in school; and the girl whoâs been turning her dreams into nightmares, Anabel, is now locked up. But serenity doesnât last for long.
It seems that Livâs troubles are far from overâin fact, suddenly theyâre piling up. School gossip blogger Secrecy knows all of Livâs most intimate secrets, Henry might be hiding something from her, and at night Liv senses a dark presence following her through the corridors of the dream world. Does someone have a score to settle with Liv?
I enjoyed a lot Dream a Little Dream, that kind of reading that sometimes you need, light and fun, also the plot focuses a lot on the dreams and I think you can do a lot with that concept, for which I feel very curious to see how it will continue, I hope that this second book of the trilogy is as easy to read as the first one
Re-reading
The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds #1) by Alexandra Bracken
When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something frightening enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that got her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government ârehabilitation camp.â She might have survived the mysterious disease that had killed most of Americaâs children, but she and the others emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they could not control.
Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones. When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. She is on the run, desperate to find the only safe haven left for kids like herâEast River. She joins a group of kids who have escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby canât risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents. When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at having a life worth living.
I LOVE this trilogy, now quartet. It’s one of my favorites ever, so I just feel like reading it and relive all those feelings and emotions again and so far, I’m enjoying it as much as the first time. It will also help me to refresh my memory in preparation to finally read the fourth book
I miss the characters so much and I also love the paranormal aspect and all that x-men vibes. Now that I remember the movie will come out soon so it will be amazing to finally see my babies on the big screen, I hope it does justice to the book.
I don’t know if I’ll write reviews of my re-reading, maybe if I do, I’ll do short reviews, but I’ll tell you everything I feel and think about it, that’s for sure.đ
The Hype Makes me Read …
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one in the journalism community is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?
Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband, David, has left her, and her career has stagnated. Regardless of why Evelyn has chosen her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.
Summoned to Evelynâs Upper East Side apartment, Monique listens as Evelyn unfurls her story: from making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the late 80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way. As Evelynâs life unfolds through the decadesârevealing a ruthless ambition, an unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden loveâMonique begins to feel a very a real connection to the actress. But as Evelynâs story catches up with the present, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Moniqueâs own in tragic and irreversible ways.
I’ve seen this book literally everywhere and honestly I haven’t read yet a single negative review about it, which is why I must say that I’m very excited to read it. The idea of the history sounds very interesting but I still have a lot of curiosity to find out what makes this book so extraordinary for so many people and I can’t wait to find out.*fingers crossed* lol
TBR Jar
Vicious (The Villains #1) by V.E. Schwab
A masterful tale of ambition, jealousy, desire, and superpowers.
Victor and Eli started out as college roommatesâbrilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.Â
Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl whose reserved nature obscures a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can findâaside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will. Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the archnemeses have set a course for revengeâbut who will be left alive at the end?ÂIn Vicious, V. E. Schwab brings to life a gritty comic-book-style world in vivid prose: a world where gaining superpowers doesn’t automatically lead to heroism, and a time when allegiances are called into question.
This was so unexpected but it’s funny that I pick it out because just recently I found out that a second book will come out and that this will be a duology so I’m happy to finally read it.
I’ve read The Archived by Victoria Schwab, it’s one of her YA works, and I loved it!, I don’t know how it this one will be, because is an Adult book, but I know that it’s very loved so I can’t wait!
Hooray for seven husbands of evelyn hugo! I can’t wait for ye to read that one. Me link be below if ye like to read it. Cool if ye don’t!

I read Darkest Minds two or three years ago, and I really enjoyed it! It kind of reminded me of Hunger Games and X-Men? I’m already NOT a fan of the movie, simply because it looks like they’re changing A LOT! As in, why even say it’s based on this book when it looks completely and utterly different. You’ll have to let me know what you think!
