Hi guys, I hope you’re having a great week, full of incredible readings. Today I bring you another tag!. I love doing tags, I think they’re so fun and refreshing, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I would love to be able to do more but takes a little more time than another type of post so I’m not always able to do it, even though I love them and I’m happy to bring you another one again today.
Today I’ll bring you the “Norse Mythology Book Tag”, I love mythology in general but as most of you have already seen, I’ve read Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman last month and I’ve completely fallen in love with these myths, and I’m currently reading The Wicked Deep that although it has nothing to do with that, the author has had the incredible detail of naming Neil Gaiman in the book and that made me remember how much I enjoyed his book so here I am, doing this tag so that everyone enjoy it. By the way, I’m loving The Wicked Deep, SO SO GOOD.
The tag was created by Kyera at Kyera’s library
So without further ado, let’s start!
ODIN: Favourite Stand-Alone
Odin is the All-Father, the leader of the Norse Gods. He is the god of wisdom, poetry, battle, death, wine, and war, among other things.
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
This book is perfect, I have other stand-alones that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend but I always end up choosing this one since I think it’s a perfect mix of all the others ones. This book is a roller coaster of emotions, it touches so many important topics from family, to the meaning of life, it’s so beautiful and unique. I absolutely love this book and I can’t stop recommending it if you want a reading that goes straight to your heart.
I’ll leave my review HERE in case you want to know more about it
THOR: A book that hits you in the feels
Thor is the god of thunder, weather, warriors, strength, and storms, so his might packs a punch. He is married to the beautiful Lady Sif.
Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare
Well I can’t explain a lot about why this book made me feel all those feelings, because spoilers, but OMG, I think it was the first time I cried so much with a book, even today when I think about that prologue makes me feel so many things. It’s such an incredible trilogy but this book is certainly the cherry on the cake. I love it so much
LOKI: Biggest book plot twist or character betrayal
Loki is the god of mischief, thieves and thrives on chaos.
I couldn’t pick just one so I’m going to choose two this time. These books are so different from each other but on the other hand both are full of plot twists and characters that betray others, so I think they’re perfect for this.
I absolutely love both, so if you want a dark fantasy full of betrayals,I recommend you The Cruel Prince, I’m sure that by all of you heard about it. And on the other hand if you prefer a mystery contemporary or dark thriller, I highly recommend Emma in the Night, it’s a brilliant book full of twisted characters and plot twists, both books are so incredible!
*Click on the name of the book in case you want to know more about them *
FRIGG: OTP
Frigg is Odin’s wife, the goddess of love, marriage, fertility, and fate.
It was so hard to pick, I have many couples that I love in my head right now, but I’ll choose Karou and Akiva (Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor), cause every time I think of a real love story that can against everything, they’re the first thing that appears in my head, they’re the Romeo and Juliet of their story and I couldn’t love them more
HEIMDALL: Favourite second book in a series
Heimdall is the god of loyalty, faithfulness and he is who protects the bi-frost, the bridge that connects all nine worlds.
Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi
I love this book, I recently re-read the whole trilogy in preparation for Restore Me and I could see how everything really starts in this book and things start to take shape, it’s so good, I gived it 4.5 stars, which means I really enjoyed it a lot more this second time around, plus: important revelations are known in here, which is fantastic.
BALDUR: Favourite male character
Baldur is the beloved son of Odin and Frigg, twin brother of Hodor.
I’m a big fan of The Darkling (The Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo) and Magnus Bane (The Mortal Instruments & The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare). There’s not much to say, I just LOVE THEM 😍
SIF: Most beautiful book cover
Lady Sif is known for her beautiful golden tresses, although she is also the goddess of the harvest and is married to Thor.
I couldn’t just choose one, beautiful covers are my weakness so I put some here that I’ve seen recently and love, I think they’re AWESOME
FREY: Book/Series that makes you happy
Frey is the Lord of weather, god of light, summer, master of agriculture, fertility, and brother of Freya.
Having read both The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices (by Cassandra Clare) was one of the greatest adventures, having entered to the Shadow Hunters world is something that even today, after so many years of having read them, makes me really happy, I hope to be able to re-read all these books at some point and revive all those feelings. I also have so much love for the characters I really miss them
FREYA: Favourite book setting
Freya is the goddess of love and beauty, fertility, war, wealth and growth, and sister of Frey.
💛 HOGWARTS💛
TYR: Favourite book with a big upheaval/epic fight scene
Tyr is the god of war
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Being honest I’m not a big fan of battle scenes, but I remember enjoying the scenes of this amazing series. Please if you haven’t read this series yet, you have to do it, don’t let yourself be influence by the awful covers or the movie, that doesn’t do justice to the books, they’re one of my favorites ever
NJORD: Favourite book an epic journey on water/ocean setting
Njord is the god of the wind and the sea.
The Young Elites by Marie Lu
This INCREDIBLE trilogy has many trips from one place to another among them some on the sea. I love these books, they have such good characters. Review of the first book HERE
VALKYRIE: Favourite strong female character
The Valkyries, much like the Amazons, are strong female warriors.
I love strong female main characters, and one of the strongest I’ve read about is Adelina Amouteru (The Young Elite series by Marie Lu)
She’s one of those characters that has suffered so much that it ends up becoming a hard and cold person, but seeing her entire trip from beginning to end has been incredible, even though it may be a character you don’t like, I personally found Adelina fascinating and is one of my favorite characters ever
AESIR/VANIR: Favourite book “crew”
The Aesir and the Vanir are the two groups of Norse gods, believed to be the old and new gods.
The Raven Cycle by The Raven Cycle
I’ll choose my boys and Blue because I’ve been missing them a lot lately, and I think they make an incredible team
SEIPYRTS: Favourite sidekick (non-human character)
Seipyrts is Odin’s trusty eight legged steed, yes you heard that correctly – eight legs. I promise that he is the god’s horse companion and not a giant spider that he rides around on… although that would probably strike more fear in the hearts of his enemies than a pretty horse does.
I choose Brimstone from Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, a character so unique and wise, it has been so long since I read these books and I still love him so much, I’ll never forget this character is one of the most valuable I’ve read about
I hope you enjoy it guys, it took me a while to answer the questions and all that, but it was worthit, so much fun!
As always, I hope to see you all doing this tag at some point and if you do it, please tag me, I would love to see your answers
