Hi babes! I hope you’re having a great day. Today I bring you my TBR of the month of January, where I tell you about the readings that I’ve planned for this month. I had a great month in January so I have great expectations for February !, I really want to re-read one of my favorite trilogies this month, I’ll talk about it later, I also want to finish with another trilogy, I have some ARCs that I should read and perhaps read some new releases this month if I have the time. I would love to be able to read 6 books maybe more, but I know it’s quite ambitious so if I don’t achieve it, it will be fine too. It’s the month of my birthday !, I’ll turn out 24 years old this month, I still can’t believe it lol. Well I don’t want this to be longer, so without further ado let’s start!
Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman
In the medieval kingdom of Goredd, women are expected to be ladies, men are their protectors, and dragons get to be whomever they want. Tess, stubbornly, is a troublemaker. You can’t make a scene at your sister’s wedding and break a relative’s nose with one punch (no matter how pompous he is) and not suffer the consequences. As her family plans to send her to a nunnery, Tess yanks on her boots and sets out on a journey across the Southlands, alone and pretending to be a boy.
Where Tess is headed is a mystery, even to her. So when she runs into an old friend, it’s a stroke of luck. This friend is a quigutl–a subspecies of dragon–who gives her both a purpose and protection on the road. But Tess is guarding a troubling secret. Her tumultuous past is a heavy burden to carry, and the memories she’s tried to forget threaten to expose her to the world in more ways than one.
This is a new release of the month of February and the truth is that the promise is fantastic, so I really have great expectations for it. The story unfolds in a medieval kingdom and there are dragons in it so YES!, I need to read this one and I’m very excited about
First Re-read of the Year!
Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi
This re-reading is something I’ve wanted to do for years, I’m very excited, just thinking that I’ll read this story again makes me feel so happy, and seeing Warner again is the best thing ever! All this re-reading of the main trilogy is in preparation for Restore Me that will be released next March. I’m so happy that Tahereh has decided to extend this trilogy to turn it into a saga, these books are so incredible, I know that there are many who don’t like them, but I personally love them.
I will not deny that it makes me a little nervous to read the characters again in the new books, because I feel that fear that extending the story will ruin them in some way, but it will keep myself positive.
Finishing my First Trilogy of the Year!
Fire Study (Poison Study #3) by Maria V. Snyder
The apprenticeship is over—now the real test has begun.
When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder—able to capture and release souls—spreads like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena’s unusual abilities and past have set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena’s fate, she receives a disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous sorcerer she has defeated before…
Honor sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills, and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward. Her journey is fraught with allies, enemies, lovers and would-be assassins, each of questionable loyalty. Yelena will have but one chance to prove herself—and save the land she holds dear.
Of course I want to finish the Poison Study trilogy, I’m so excited to know how this story will end, I want to know what will happen to each character and I really feel like I want to spend more time with them, I’m really attached to some of the characters especially with Ari and Janco lol, they’re great. I hope to see a great battle in this book, more magical things, intriguing political drama and KIKI, I can’t wait
